This campground is great for the location. In the National Park and has a shuttle location at the entrance to the park. The sites are all dirt. There is no grass anywhere in campground, which makes it hard for dogs to do their business. Dogs get very dirty! No AT&T service in area. Verizon is spotty. Our satellite worked great. Elk walk through campground and ravens are everywhere. I would not stay in this park if it were not for the location. Showers are not located in this campground. You have to walk or drive to Mather Campground to take showers or wash clothes. They were clean though. Staff was very helpful.
We stayed free due to the Tents to Troops Program but the entry form on this review would not accept zero dollars. Owner is extremely patriotic and super nice. We had a water/electric only site. This park is all gravel and very dusty. Has nice pool and playground as well as life size chess game. Very busy park. Easy on and off highway. There is train noise if you are outside but could not hear it inside our RV. There is an airport very close and was very busy with small planes when we stayed. Very low flying planes that we could hear inside RV. Has great free WiFi.
We had an electric/water only site. This is a very dusty campground with gravel. No grass anywhere, which is kind of expected in this part of the country. Very easy access from highway, but there was no highway noise at all. They serve breakfast and dinner (expensive) and will even deliver it to your RV.
We have stayed here many times for an overnight stop. Staff is super friendly. Has a nice stocked store for RV needs as well as gifts and collectibles. Sites are gravel. We stayed in a pull through. Some sites are wider so when making reservations, please make sure you select correctly. Even though our site was gravel, we got lucky and got a level spot and didn't have to level at all. One negative is that it is right next to the airport and train tracks so you hear both all the time. Has a fenced in dog park but it has no grass and did have waste that other people had not cleaned.
Overall, this is a good park; however, there were a few things that kept it from being a great park. First of all, the sites are extremely unlevel. There were some people that didn't have enough lego blocks or pieces of wood to make their rig level and had to be moved. Even then, some had to resort to using several different types of wood and blocks to make level. There were some motorhomes that had their front wheels off the ground. Secondly, there was no grass at any site. On top of this, there were the soft, little burs that get in everything all over the place. Every time we took our dogs outside, they would come in with over 30 burs in their fur. It was absolutely horrible. And this wasn't just our site, but all of the sites. To make matters worse, none of the sites are paved. They have grey gravel everywhere. My dogs feet, after just a few minutes outside the first day, were black, and I have white dogs. I could not even get them clean. When we came home, the groomer had to shave their feet because they were so filthy. We also had a leak at the water connection. It leaked where we connected to the spigot. Because we were a little higher than our neighbor, it leaked right into their spot. Also because these are tiny sites, they were wet all week. We reported this to the management, and nothing was done to fix it. The sites were very narrow. We could not walk around our fifth wheel on the driver side because we would have been in our neighbor's space. They did have very clean bathrooms and good wifi but that is really all I have nice to say about this place. We will not stay here again.
