Edisto Beach SP has been one of our favorite places to camp for 20 years. It is beautiful and peaceful, but the campground needs work. This is one of the most popular parks in SC, but the state does not maintain the campground well. The roads have potholes and the sites badly need gravel. When it rains many sites flood which makes it tough on the tent campers. All that said, it is still a great place to visit.

The park has been taken over by Encore. It is very run down with dirt roads and sites. It had rained the day we stayed so there was standing water and mud everywhere. However, the sites are full hookup pull-throughs, so it is not bad for an overnight stop off I-95 at the PA rate. Any more that $22 would be painful.

Nice park right off I-95 north of Jacksonville. All sites are concrete pull-throughs with full hook ups. There is airport noise but it stops around 10 PM. They recently joined Passport America with a 3 day minimum and 6 day maximum. At the $20 PA rate it is a great deal.

Campground is a gravel parking lot with very close sites. However, it is very well kept and the owners live on the property. The location is in sight of Charlotte Motor Speedway, and has easy access to I-85 and I-485. We stay there often when visiting family in Charlotte. The owners are very nice and accommodating, and we feel safe there. Charlotte is not a camping destination, and Yates Family Campground is a good place to park while visiting the area. There are no bathrooms or showers, so self contained units only. The sites have full hookups with good power. There is no cable TV, but Charlotte has many on the air stations, and all sites are satellite friendly. Cash only, no credit cards.

Old park with new owners. They are trying to get things squared away and have plans for continuing improvement. Close to I-95, so good for an overnight stop. Sites are grassy and close together. Some permanent residents scattered around. Rate reflects Passport America.

Beautiful park at 3000' elevation. Only 12 miles from West Jefferson where there is a WalMart, Lowes, and other grocery stores. All sites have electric, but water and sewer only at a few sites. The NC Parks website indicates facilities by site. We stayed a week and plan to go back. Price reflects a senior discount. Highway 221 is narrow and many curves, so slow is the way to go.

Easy access off I-95. Has large grassy pull-through sites. A good overnight stop and would be good for an extended stay. Price reflects Passport America rate.

Clean, well kept, and friendly owners at this park. I would definitely stay again. No negatives as far as I am concerned. Rate is Passport America.

There are many full timers and some run down rigs. The management is helpful and it is convenient to I-5. The sites are small and close. Overall, it is not bad for an overnight stop.

Nice state park with well spaced campsites. This is a good park to stay for a few days if you are in need of an urban location. There is every type of shopping one might need within a few miles of the park. It is strictly first come first serve and weekends are busy with local family campers. Early weekday arrivals are more likely to get a campsite.
