This is our 7th or 8th stay at this park. We love the park and the staff. BUT they seem to be moving away from week or weekend campers and moving towards Annual and Semi-annual lease sites and all snowbirds during the winter. They have instituted an arm band system for all facility use during the summer months. This seems to be above and beyond for use of campground features (pool, lake, exercise room). There were only 20 or sites with campers on them for the week we were there. It is not hard to keep up with who is camping or not. This place is hard to find and not easy to get into so I can't see the need for these armbands? Maybe just us! We plan to come back once more this year and see how it goes. Might be time to move on to another family friendly camping resort not a senior citizen camping resort. Hate to say that.

This is our 4th time staying at KOA New Bern. We have family in New Bern so we use KOA as a base of operation. We have never found it dirty or have been afraid to stay here. Hosts do a great job. They have a good staff also. Bathhouse by the cabins is always clean and I take showers there when I need more than a 6 gallon hot shower. The dock area is nice to walk to and sit down on the pier under a covered area while watching the Neuse River flow by. Dogs are welcome and they have nice area to take them off the leash. Roads could use some gravel to level them out. BUT that would be my only complaint. Nice new double lane highway US17 going by the campground with nice new entrance. It's easier to get in and out now than a year ago. We will be going back to KOA New Bern.

River view sites not really river view. New EPA rules keep the area from the campground to the shore line from being cut, so you only see the underbrush. Patio sites were great, I loved the concrete site with a double glider, table with 4 chairs and the mode lights around the concrete. Plenty of room with slides out and awning out for fun. Bathhouses were always clean and supplied. Patio area around around office was nice. This was Mother's Day weekend and the camp ground staff went out of their way to make it special for Mom's and their families. Free breakfast Sunday before church services, this was nice for the moms. I would stay here again when I go to New Bern. Diesel pumps and gas station within one mile of entrance to campground. Around 4-5 miles to all the shopping you would need. Historic downtown New Bern 2-3 miles away. Camp staff were on top of everything, Pat was a great hostess.

We stayed here with 4 other families and their camping rigs. We had sites 23-27. These were the 50 amp pull thru sites. I had found this campground on the internet as we were looking for a campground near the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. This was the perfect place to camp. We stayed four nights and we had a great time. The campground host's, the Manning's, made our stay very nice and pleasant. They are working hard to make it a family campground with lots of things to do with kids or without. I would stay here again, and plan too. If you want a place to stay that wants your business this is the place. The owners are working hard to make your stay pleasant.

This was our 7th or 8th trip to Crosswinds CG at Jordan Lake. We were camping with our SS class and had to reserve 6 sites for all of us to stay together. Normally I would have just rode down and got a site for the weekend on Thursday evening, but with this being Memorial Day weekend I was worried we would be hard pressed to find 6 sites together. I was right. Everybody was camping this weekend. Best plans we have ever made booking early. We had a nice time and the lake was wonderful. Bathhouses were cleaned everyday and they even had a cleaning service come in 3 times over the weekend to help the park staff clean the houses. We had a blast, the Ranger's were patrolling all weekend. After 11pm all was quiet. This had to be one of best camping trips ever to Jordan Lake. Friends make a camping trip much better. I too have a complaint about locking you in after 9pm. I feel like that locked gate time could be extended to 11pm on a major holiday weekend. I understand short staffing issues but you have campground host make them earn their free camping space by locking the gates a little later. You are 10 miles from one the largest malls in North Carolina, it would be nice to run up there and not worry about having to be back before 9pm. But over all this is one NC's crown jewels of a lake and campground.

I have camped at this campground 7 times now. I have found it to be one of the best campgrounds in Myrtle Beach area for the money. I have read all the reviews on it and I find it to be a 9 out of 10 campground. YES it is crowded in the summer, yes there are lots of golf carts running around. Guess what? I have one! I find it is an easy way to travel around this campground. Getting from the store, to the beach, to the pool. Yes and I walk to some places also. My kids bike too. BUT I do like having the le to spell of the golf cart. I do see some kids riding them around and some are careless.. If you see them call security. They will take the carts in a minute from you or your family. I have a soon to be 16 year old and we heading back down to Ocean Lakes in the middle of July and he cant wait to be able to drive our cart around. You let him drive a car on the roads, you have to trust them to drive responsible on the golf cart. He would hate to have it taken away by security and then answer to me. BUT that seems to be most peoples biggest gripe. Other than that it is a large campground with tons of things to do. I love camping here as does my family. We camped with 12 other families over Easter. Talk about a fun trip we had one. We stayed in the 4000 section a we will during our summer trip. Plus I have reservations or Thanksgiving week already. I will go here as long as I can and I only hope my family enjoys it for as long as we all can together, life is short make the most of it. Stay here if you want your kids to have fun and yourself. If you want quiet please camp somewhere else. It is getting harder for me to get reservations as it is. Staff is great, as are the facilities.

I found this campground to be a very nice place to camp. My biggest complain is the cost. I hate to have to pay extra for my 3 kids. I understand the one who is 21 year old. But to pay extra for my two younger kids just kind of, well it makes me mad. Over all we enjoyed the stay here as a base of operations to visit in and around Wilmington. Having WiFi at the campsite was a nice thing as I had to do some work for the company over the Labor Day weekend, this made it nice that all I had to do was set it up and get my work done. The bath houses were in great shape 90% of the time. I found them dirty and in a mess one afternoon, I notified the office and someone got right on cleaning them up. The store was marginal with goods but worked and had everything you might need without having to leave to get it. A Food Lion is just a 1/2 mile down the road. A Wilco/Hess is at the camp entrance with Diesel fuel on two pumps so that was nice, not having to hunt a up station with diesel fuel for my truck. The campground staff was friendly and the owner was on site Saturday and Sunday. The campground had entertainment Saturday in the form of a Hawaiian Luau. With real dancers and roasted pork with side dishes. This was all free to paying guest. We camped on three sites and also had one couple in the Kamping Kabins. Over all we had a great time and would like to go back. I will plan a trip when the rates are cheaper, Off season.

We stayed in the JC Cooper Campground at Satterwhite Point on four camping sites, 48-49-50-51. The weather was hot for this time of year. We had access to the lake with one of our sites being right at the lake. I have a 33 ft TT and was able to get a site next to the road and was able to back into it very easy. Our water hook ups for all 4 sites were at the front of my camping site #49. You need to make sure you have at least 50-75ft of some type of hose. I used a 50ft. garden hose and only used the water for showers and pottie. I also had to connect my 25ft white water hose to be able to connect to the TT. A friend came up on Friday and he had to tie into my water line with a splitter to get water to his camper on site #48. So make sure you have long length of hose with you for water hook-ups. The power box had 30amp, 50amp and a 20amp duplex plug in it right next to my slide out. With us using 4 sites we had a great time this weekend. This was a quick last of summer get together before all our kids go back to school. We had over 35 people at our Saturday night potluck dinner. We will return and hope the weather is cooler and the fish are biting.

We camped July 28-31, 2005 and this campground was one of the best I have stayed at. So much to do and see. We plan to go back again. All the reviews on this campground are right on. I never found the restrooms or showers unclean. The staff was friendly and they are building a new campground entrance. This looks to be a larger store and a nicer campground office coming in the next few months. Charleston is only a short drive and there is so much to see and do in downtown Charleston. We will be going back here more in the future. I only rated this campground an 8 due to the fact that we camped on a Thursday and Friday and it was 101 degrees on Thursday and 99 degrees of Friday with a heat factor of 115 and 110 this two days. Very HOT. If you go in the summer plan on extremely hot days. I believe cooler weather would make this the perfect place to camp with a family. Water park was very nice and you get a discount if you are a camper. Still cost my family of 5, $37.50 for the day but well worth it.

This campground is an older campground. It has been around for years and it has a lot of repeat business. It is open to day guests because of it's lake. The lake is open to anyone who pays the entrance fees. Not a bad crowd just a large crowd when compared to the campground guests. The bathrooms and bathhouses were always clean and in great shape. The store was a little spartan but it worked. It had a nice little Ice Cream Shop, if you could get waited on. Our sites were the 50amp sites as this was a last minute trip. They were not too level from front to back, but we were told that on the phone. The sites on the other side of the campground were in much better shape as far as shade and levelness. Overall not a bad campground but if I could not find any other place to camp I would return. The staff was extra friendly. Just not my type of campground.
