A beautiful place to stay. Wi-Fi at shower house and some of the camping sites closer to the shower house. Host was friendly and the people at the gate are some of the friendliest people you will ever meet - helpful and full of vigor. Love this place - if only they would get the Wi-Fi in the full campground this place would rate a 10.
Nice quiet and clean place..kinda dusty, but not that bad. The owner was friendly and led us to our site. We hooked up and then went back to the office to pay. This is a nice place to spend a night or longer -will return.
No one in the office: take a spot, put money in envelope and drop in box. The WiFi is spotty. It appears nothing has changed from the orginal owners, other that the Chamber of Commerce office is where the 2 room motel use to be. The office was closed, also used to have service from the owners, but who knows what is going on now. Will not stop here again.
The place has turned into a refuge camp (in my opinion) the park is mostly for permanent residents and construction workers...erase this park from your staying list...also..dial-up is faster than the Wi-Fi at this park..this will be our last time staying here and we have been customers for numerous years..the park sold this year and the new owners have increased the fees with no additional benefits...they will be lucky to last 5 more years.
Still a beautiful place...we rode out two of those infamous Oklahoma thunder boomers..man...anyway the park host is friendly and the ranger is also..a nice place to stay...if they had sewer hookups, and Wi-Fi, it would be a 12..but a strong 9 is good.
The owner stated the 50 amp service didn't work and the 30 amp is shady so $42 per night+tax is too high for this park. Anyway I guess the new owner is trying, but so far no improvements have been made. The Wi-Fi is spotty and works sometimes. We will not be back and one more thing I noticed, the 30 amp plugs have no disconnect at the post. The electrical is in need of upgrading.
Have stayed here numerous times and each time we have enjoyed the park. Stayed a week this time. On the weekends there are a lot of ATVs in the park, but come Monday it is quiet. A beautiful park with friendly people in the office.
I gave it an 8 because it was free. This is no shade and it is rather noisy. Big trucks come and go, but it is a nice place to overnight. The buffet at the casino is rather expensive at $16. So with that said, the camping price is right.
I would have given it a 9-10, but the fire rings hadn't been cleaned in a while. It appears, the park is still one of the better ones in Oklahoma. The Host was nice and the park is in good shape. They need rain in the lake, because the lake level is dropping, but still a beautiful place.
A beautiful place in the woods, but no sewer. Water available, but not at sites. Noise during the day (off road vehicles) but the quiets down at night. We stayed 7 days and enjoyed every day, great place.
Previous owners have retaken the campground. it still lacks the luster of a well maintained park, but the owners are trying. The check-in went smooth and the owner is very friendly. Although the campground is for sale the owners are keeping it operating.
A beautiful place to stay, but they do not clear the snow and ice from the camping sites. The showers are turned off during the "off season" and there are only two water sources available to fill your tank. The dump was frozen. I guess winter is not a good time to camp there since they charge you full price for 1/4 the services.
The park is small (10 sites with electric and 10 sites with full hookups). Nice clean quiet park with great people running the park. In spite of recent floods, the park and golf course is in good condition. The golf course (9 hole) adjoins the park and is in good shape. Will stay here again, hopefully next year.
One of the better campgrounds we have stayed in our 20+ years of RV'ing. The checkin was smooth, although we didn't have reservations: there was one site available and we took it. A great place, we will return.
Excellant value for the price. The campground now has Wi-Fi, with a good signal, and it is free at the present time. Though I was told the camping fees will be raised to 21 per night: still a bargain compared to some of the other campgrounds. The campground is being maintained in a good manner, the fees on the par 3 golf course has been increased, to $7 to off set the other raising costs. But all in all a good place to stay.
We have stayed at this campground numerous times: the latest being Sept-Oct 06. The campground just keeps getting better. The campground would rate a 10 if they would install Wi-Fi. Other than that a great place to stay. In talking to the host, the campground is looking at installing Wi-Fi.
The campground recently has changed hands. No 50 amp service was available. No improvements other than Wi-Fi added. The price has increased. A nice place if you just want to fish or rest. In my opinion, the fees are too high for what you get.
This park is not located in Grove, Ok. It is located outside of Bernice, Ok. The campground is a great place to spend some time: fishing, swimming across the road in Grand Lake. The only drawback is the State Park does not have sewer, a dump is available. The park was clean and the hosts were great. Nice place.
The spaces are too close: the neighbors slide extended over into the next parking space. Also the neighbor had four items in the space: two pickups, a trailer, and a 5th wheel. One pickup was parked so as to partially blocked the road. Was a tight fit, but I made it. Seems like there is no enforcement of rules. Not that great of a campground.
Park is cleaned and well maintained. The Wi-Fi is available at a cost: $4 p/hr. Other than the cost of the Wi-Fi, the campground is a nice place. A little on the noisy side with I-44 near, but not unbearable.
This is a beautiful Texas State Park: some sites had water and electric while other sites had just water. No sewer is available at the campsites, but they have a couple of dumps. The park is quiet and peaceful. We stayed 10 days. The park could be a great place if only the state of Texas would install sewer at the campsites. The restrooms were warm and clean and showers were cleaned regularly. There is a river running through the park that is beautiful. Fishing was slow, but did not have to have a fishing license because of Texas' gift this year to the fisherman: no license if fishing in some of the parks. Check local parks. A burn ban was in force while we were here, so that was kind of a let down, but all in all this is a great place to rest.
The pull through sites were narrow and the connecting roadways were narrow. A big rig wouldn't be able to negoiate the turns. A huge amount of permanent people: a lot of the trailers were very run down. The brush and junk along the north side of the campground was very unsitely. An old campground and it shows its age. Also the railroad within 100 yds and the highway within 50-60 yards were very noisy. My advise? Avoid this place.
The campground is a nice place, the only drawback is the camping spots are rather narrow making it necessary to pull in the slide on the driver's side to access the basement. Also, the roads are rather narrow inside the campground. A nice place to stay.
The park is nice and clean, Quiet at night. Good park to stay in while visiting Branson. The only problem is the small spaces; we had to close slide to access basement area on the driver's side. The hills and turns weren't a problem with my 33 footer, but I saw a 40 footer have to back twice to get a round a corner and out of the parking space. All in all this is a nice, quiet, clean park to camp in. Will visit again.
Nice quite place on Lake Tom Sneed. A little hard to find on account of the sign on the highway that directs you to the park. Very difficult to see. The park is quiet and the hostess was a very nice person wanting to please the campers. Good fishing in the lake. A dump is available.
The park is located on Army Fort Sill..there is a firing range south of the park. Artillery rounds and machine gun fire could be heard and felt at the CG. They fired sometimes until 11:00PM. The CG is on Lake Elmer Thomas, a pretty lake, with paddle boats, canoes, etc., for rent. A small store is also there. Although it was nice, and had a lot of activities, I don't think I will stay there again, too much noise.
The park now has full hook ups. The campground is one of the best we have used in the past 40 yrs. The management checked on us to see if we need any assistance while hooking up. The campground is clean and quite. I can't say enough good things about the campground. People will just have to experience the campground to know how good it is.
