A lovely setting with generally very clean grounds. It's indeed away from everything; mail takes two or three extra days and if there's Wi-Fi, we couldn't find it. Quiet hiking trails, but upper site roads are terribly dusty and rutted; your rig will bounce and bang around. The camp is not particularly well marked and if you are a big rig with tow, you will find hard, narrow turns. Do-able, but with caution and patience. We were treated a little snippily by a manager. Would probably stay again, but only because of dear friends in a near-by town. Recommended for families or couples wanting to really get away, but not for anyone for whom Wi-Fi business or family communication is important.
While this is an older park with diverse rigs and setups, it is clean, and quiet. Management is welcoming and helpful. Some shady sites with room for careful big rig turns, and it's a good value while visiting the area. BUT if you are coming westbound BE AWARE: the exit is a left lane and there is virtually NO advance highway signage to alert drivers of this fact. Here's hoping your GPS lets you know, otherwise it is a dangerous lane change with so little warning. We will use the park again.
Even with construction on Hwy. 90 and a rough entrance (not the park's fault), this is a wonderful operation. I disagree with another reviewer in that we found sites freshly graveled and relatively level. It's quiet, shady grounds are spectacularly clean, as is the small well kept pool. Big rig sites have sufficient turning room, with comfortable entry and exit. Some may find the sites rather close together, especially sites for smaller campers and 5th wheels. Most importantly, management shows pride of ownership and the permanents, instead of sheds, tents and out buildings, have lovely patio set ups and tiers and tiers of foliage and flowering container plants. No playground equipment, but a most hospitable park. We absolutely will stay here again and recommend them to all except folks with small children.
A wonderfully clean, spacious, hospitable RV stop over. We felt comfortable here in spite of some minor train and truck noise, but the roomy truck stop is great for refueling and highway re-entry. Permanent sites are well kept and the owners obviously care about keeping things nice. Highly recommended.
USA is an older park, but clean and well maintained. Though we thought we'd reserved a full service site, ours had no sewer. Small rigs are situated near the front, have more room and probably better Wi-Fi; our big rig was to the back, in a tight space but with wide turn room. Wi-Fi poor. The park is well situated for an overnight stay. We think odor complaints may be from a nearby water treatment plant, not the park. Some permanent sites that need work, airplane, train and road noise. Courteous staff. Good bet for short stay or rest day.
We were terribly disappointed with Munds Park. Firstly, it is barely an "RV Resort." Reflecting May 2009's review, management doesn't understand room needed for a big rig's turns. You MUST back up in the front spaces; if they're occupied: you're stuck. Management is completely unconcerned. Spaces in the newer sections are quite long, but again, miserably narrow and turns difficult, with pervasive septic odor. High road noise. ATVs do indeed run through the park. Amenities may or not be in service. BTW, I have no clue about another reviewers "salt water" pool comment. That is not what I saw, and the pool was unheated. But mostly it is a "sardine can" style of park models, many of which are for sale. Can't believe the State allows trailers and campers to be crammed in that closely. The park won't see us again. If you are 38' or over, be warned!
The park is most pleasant, with some road noise but it isn't troublesome. Exceptionally clean with great views and hospitable staff. EV RV Resort is excellent for short or long term stays. Note however that ALL sites are back-ins, and as mentioned by another reviewer, a couple of children fill and dominate the pool. We would absolutely stay here again.
Why is this camp still open? It's clearly seen better days, with many sad looking rigs that haven't been washed, never mind moved, in decades. Electricals in here are frighteningly patched up. We were promised a "big rig" site, which turned out to be laughable, and had to use the generator because of an unsafe (in our opinion) electrical hook-up that had widely varying power levels through it. It appears the owners are spending nothing on upkeep. Campgrounds seem to be few and far between in this region, but this one is to be avoided under any circumstance.
The only thing to recommend this park is its proximity to wonderful Mystic Seaport. Few sites have shade; there is no wifi anywhere, regardless of what their ads say; the pool was not open. Restrooms and showers sit on rough concrete pads; awfully dirty; there are NO sewer hookups. They charge an extra fee for a septi-wagon pump out of black water tanks. Management is simply not interested in turning this park into the gold mine it could be. Expect nothing from this park in the way of service; restrooms are a hazard for children.
You'll find an extremely clean park with lots of amenities, 3 pools, exceptional play facilities. WiFi is its only drawback; service is dreadfully slow and spotty, not available at all at some sites. Sites are close together, but I fully expected that in a crowded resort community. Grounds are pretty and well manicured. Not all staff is exactly familiar with the surrounding towns; know where you're headed and the best way to get there! It's a great place for a family's active vacation.
Getting through towns to this park is a trial of patience, but then a quarter mile or so of "speed bumps" ruined our attitude before we even discovered our pull thru site was adjacent to a smelly dumpster. I can understand the need for speed controls on the long straight entry road, but what they have done is put thick layers of asphalt on top of the road, and your rig will take repeated hard hits. There is no Wi-Fi if that is important to you. The pool seems nice; I imagine families would enjoy this as a refuge from the city. Black ants come with the territory. We would not stay here again.
This very small, very tight park is well kept, with much to occupy small children, incl. a nice clean pool. There's pleasant shade; it's terrifically located among things to see and do. The trains aren't nearly as bad as in that classic "I Love Lucy" episode, but the horns do blow, and if you're track side, you need to be accepting of it all. We would stay here again.
While this former KOA is convenient to I-95, it doesn't have the terrible noise issues many KOAs have. It is a clean, quiet, very pleasant stopover. I'd suggest requesting a site away from the pool. TV channels are quite limited but WIFI is fairly fast and reliable. We would recommend this park and would stay here again.
