Most disgusting campground we have ever stayed at!! I thought perhaps it was slightly shabby per the other reviews, but no, this place is nasty! Dirty, junk piled everywhere, dogs and children running all around, filthy bathrooms that reek of cigarettes, pool looked like a health hazard. We made sure to lock the doors and roof of the Jeep, a safe neighborhood it is not. Stay here at your own peril.
Staff was rude, not just the front desk. Entire park floods and gets muddy when it rains, which is pretty often in New Orleans! Pool is nice but never went in. Bbq restaurant offers bbq buffet on Sundays 12-6, but the smoker wasn't going in the morning, which means they were serving frozen or leftover bbq: no thanks. The resort offers a shuttle to the Quarter, last ride home at 8. $35-40 cab ride back makes staying here $$$$. Loved the other resort right near the action. This campground is in the ghetto, but it is secure.
You're a 5-7 minute walk to the Quarter and a $7 max cab ride home at night. Beautiful saltwater pool and hot tub, and hands down the nicest bathrooms of any campground we've ever stayed in. Front desk staff are some of the nicest we've ever dealt with, a total pleasure from reservations to check-in, to our multiple stay extensions. It's expensive, but if you like to go out in the Quarter past 8 pm saving $40-50 to stay across town is not worth it. Wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else when in town!
This place is fabulous; location, price and amenities are hard to beat. Half mile to the beach, but there is free and abundant beachfront parking which makes going to the beach so easy. Found a great seafood market with daily fresh fish, 20 minutes south. Pool is gorgeous and we loved it. Live music and a poolside bar & restaurant we didn't patronage but were pretty packed with people having a good old time! Sites are a bit tight and bathrooms are run down and not the cleanest. Even still, can't wait to return!
