This was really a nice KOA. Sites were level and good size. Staff friendly, park clean, very nice dog park. We did not use the pool, but it looked nice. They had breakfast Thursday-Sunday but we did not eat there. For this to be such a big park it was very quiet at night. We did take the city bus to the Riverwalk and thats the way to travel. We would stay again.
This park was OK. It seemed to be in a bad area, but we never felt unsafe. The concrete pad was nice. Some have shade; others do not. Ours did not so it was a little hot, but level. Wish they had grills and or fire pit. Plently of room between sites. Kind of strange having houses inside the park, but I guess they rent those. Staff reall friendly! We did not let them take us to town because we felt we did not want to stay that long. We would stay here again.
It is easy to get to, close to Sams and Bass Pro Shop and the staff is really friendly! Yes, the interior roads do need work, but I have seen worse. Our pad had major cracks in concrete so we had to park for the jacks accordingly; our site barely had room for the slides to be out and walk between ours and the one next to us; your table sits almost in the front of the person parked next to you. Oh they do have a really nice dog park and there is some pretty shade for walking. Over night stop is OK, but I would not want to stay any longer than that.
Nice campground. Shame you can't reserve a site because if you're in a big rig you may not be able to find a spot sometimes. We saw tents where large RV's should have been. We couldn't get satellite where we were but did get some local channels. Fairly level spots, pretty large. They are working on some sites so some areas were closed. Very nice walking area. Saw deer one morning at our campsite. We would stay here again.
This was by far one of our favorites! Beautiful shade trees and pretty private. Short walk to the river with sandy beaches. We did not stay in the beach area; we were in the river area. Beware...if you have a toad, unhook before you leave the office. We have a 40 foot and there are some low hanging trees and tight turns so pay attention when driving into the campground and parking. Would return to this park!
We loved this KOA. Staff were very friendly! Spend the extra money to get the lake side. Nice dog run and cute homemade lake. Enjoyed watching some strange bird swim underwater. Some good shade. The reason I did not give it a 10 is because the site we were in was pretty cramped if you have slides, which we do, and could be a little more level. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Be sure to eat at the Italian restaurant in walking distance! Great scallops!
Arrived here around 1:00pm on Friday and headed to west rim campground. There was a lot of empty sites but they already had name tags on them. Was told you couldn't hold a site, so I didn't understand that. Very few sites in the east or west rim that a 40' motorhome would fit in. Found one that was pretty unlevel but it worked. Would not want to get here after dark. West rim was nice and woodsy and the east rim was more like a park and also close to the day use area. I would suggest to unhook your toad before you head up the mountain, because it is steep! I did like the campground and would go back again! Next time I might come on Thursday and try to find a little better site, as I said for bigger rigs they are few and far between.
It is a pretty campsite. Some of the sites have blocked views of the water due to brush on the other side of the road. Some do have water view sites. Pretty level sites and friendly folks. I would stay here again.
First let me start by saying it is true about the owner flying around in his golf cart wide open! There is a speed limit but not for him. I guess it wouldn't be so bad but the road is dirt so he stirs up a lot of dust!! Yep you have to have your fire out at 11 which I can live with. The Wi-Fi is a joke unless you stand very close to the building. For the park to be so big and empty (except for the few full time units) he puts you close together. It is close to town so I probably would stay here again.
Paved sites that you back into due to hookups at the very back of the sites so no view from inside you coach. Pretty level, had a covered picnic area at your site. The strange thing: if you are here for 1 night, you get on the lower level right on the water (better sites). If you are here more than 1 night, you get on the upper level overlooking the units below you, kind of strange. Overall it's a pretty good site with views across the water.
One of the prettiest sites we have ever camped at! I would have given it a 10 but if you get the full hookup sites on the lake you have to back in if your in a motorhome (due to hookup location) so you can't see out the front of your vehicle. BUT you are right on the water with a camp fire ring, a beautiful beach to walk on with lots of pretty rocks and some of the most beautiful sunsets! Really enjoyed it! Be sure to stay here.
I gave this campground a 6 because when you pull in you see all these beautiful sites surrounded by trees with some being on the lake. But if you have a larger motorhome they put you in an open gravel field area which looks nothing like the rest of the campground. Looks like a lot of people stay there year round. If you don't mind being in an open area with no shade then it's OK. I would not stay again just because of the parking lot feel.
This is one of the most beautiful campgrounds we have ever stayed at. The sites were level, there were cypress trees between sites so you had privacy. We were in the full hook up area. I think the non-full hook up area was more of an open field. The site was huge and had a fire ring. I can't remember the exact price we paid but I think my estimate is close. We loved it and would stay again.
Loved this campground. We do not have kids and were traveling home. Chose this campground based on reviews. They were having trick or treat this night and it was so much fun watching all the kids and decorations! The only problem I have with the park is that the sites are close together. If you have slides you barely have room to sit outside. Would stay here again when passing through.
