In our 13 years of full-timing I know that all private parks have their own unique rules, but arriving at this park imparts a very negative feeling. We've stayed here before and knew there were lots of "rules" and "signs," but now with new management, it's even worse. When I said we had never had to pay extra for an extra vehicle (we have a 5th wheel, Freightliner, and I follow in a Jeep) the new owner said "we're not a parking lot." They scanned my driver's license into their computer . . . also a first. The cheapest site, other than tent camping, is $39.95, less Good Sam discount of $3.95, plus $5 extra vehicle, total $41 for one night. Not to mention that the clerk was required to READ the rules to me and verify that I understood. If not for the fact that we're here to visit family we would not be here and, we've now declared that we will NOT stay here again.
We love this park as it's not too big nor too small and people are friendly. We usually stay a month. The recent addition of park models takes away some of the ambiance.
A nice laid-back, quiet park with only 40 total sites. The owners are super nice and what a great "retreat" it is, you're close enough to Gulf Shores and lots of restaurants. You're not paying for a pool, but there are two large ponds.
If you want to have a really fun RV experience, Betty's is the place to be There are adequate sites for 40-45 foot RVs with full hookups and the friendliest atmosphere anywhere Everyone becomes "family" at Betty's. Betty is a "jewel" and will go out of her way to ensure that the good times roll. There are many seasonal activities. Make reservations early.
