Friendly staff willing to help. We had one of the 2 beach front sites. The sites are all plumbed and wired for park trailers not RV's. This means the utilities are on the wrong side so you either have to pull forward into a site or run your wires and hoses across your site. Restrooms are clean and always available. Beach access is easy and with the ocean front site like we had it's a great view all the time. Our site was level and with the required fire lane we were able to pull in forward and unhook.
Check in was frantic as best. Really felt as though I was being nickeled and dimed being charged for having my kids ($12 for 2 kids @ 2 nights) and then being charged for my dogs (another $12 for 2 dogs) plus resort taxes. Turned an $80 weekend into a $113 weekend. Sites are not level. ADA restrooms were closed this weekend due to new flooring (seems one at a time would make more sense). This park as a lot of features that don't seem to work. For example they have a really nice events center that probably only gets use a few times a year, vs putting in a pool that would be an attraction and get used daily. They have a fancy general store which has some high end stuff for sale as well as an expresso bar. Landscaping started at 8am on Saturday and the garbage truck came to empty the only dumpster around 9:30. I wasn't to happy about the 8am wakening. This campground has a lot of natural trees and vegetation and with that, a lot of bugs.
Fairly friendly and fast check in. Campground is quiet and the neighbors are friendly. The pool is a great add even though the facility is fairly old it's clean. The restrooms are clean as well. I have to shower my 3 year old so the normal showers are uncomfortably small but the ADA showers are great. Overall this is one of our favorite campgrounds in the area.
This campground was our maiden voyage in our new trailer. Nice facility which was pretty well maintained. Lots of shade trees which made the trailer get nasty pretty quick with the kids going in and out. Nice beaches are within a mile of the campground.
It is a nice small park with ample room and all the hookups. I honestly feel they shouldn't advertise Newport! They are 14 miles from the southern most edge of Newport so it's 20-30 minutes to get into Newport. I sprung for a view site and they do have a great view but it's a hike to the beach.
We are extremely disappointed that the facility doesn’t have built in fire pits and that rental units for $5 per night are not available. I spent all weekend on the wait list. The pool was closed pretty much the entire weekend from 7/30 – 8/1 in the later afternoon. The showers in the ladies room drain couldn’t keep up when more than 1 shower was in use, forcing people to stand in other peoples bath water. Lots of mold in both bathrooms from the lack of cleaning under benches, counters, sinks, etc. WIFI Internet was a joke at best. No connectivity in the park it’s self and in the lodge it was slower than using dial up. When checking in the clerk spent an extended period of time explaining how many sites didn’t have fully functional hook-ups. Seems it would be in the best interest of the park to fix them vs putting a black garbage bag over them. Lack of paved roads and lots create a lot of dust. Playgrounds are dirt vs play sand. We really don’t like the first come first serve process. I would prefer to pick a spot that I know is large enough for my trailer vs showing up and hoping for the best. On the plus side: Park is very quiet and lot size is nice.
