This is our favorite park and it just got better with the addition of the full hook ups. We think the remodel of the full hook up sites came out very well. Very long pull throughs. Plenty of room, fire rings, terrific setting. Great hiking trails and can be in Savannah downtown in 15 minutes. We were here for Thanksgiving weekend and I will be adding a separate review for new cabins since we put our in-laws in a cabin for weekend.
This was our first visit to Bryn Mawr. We enjoyed it. We stayed in site 222, which is one of the ocean front sites. We had a very nice wide site, and an elevated deck with roof that enabled us to sit outside even on the drizzly days. Our teenage boys came back from the shower house and commented that they were clean and nice tiled showers. The heated pool in the middle of the resort was open and had a very large hot tub. The huge pool and tennis courts in the front of the resort were closed right now for refurbishing. Since it was winter, definitely not a problem. The open pool was more than sufficient. The beach here is very beautiful - wide with soft white sand. The office staff was pleasant and helpful with questions. I could not get Wi-Fi on my iPad at the site (went to office), but my son said he got it the whole trip at the site. There are quite a few park models, but very neat. I was glad we had an ocean site, more roomy for our 40' fifth wheel. We would stay here again.
This is a beautiful park with mature trees and impeccable landscaping. Underground utilities and no street lights. We did feel it would be difficult to arrive late because of darkness. It is true that many of the RV sites are occupied by seasonal RV's, but because of our late (in the year) visit, we felt very comfortable. Also, we were told that there is most often room for the daily and weekend visitors. Not much cellphone signal for us. Bathrooms very clean. Staff very kind to us. We definitely will return.
This was our first trip to Townsend and Mountaineer Campground. We really enjoyed our trip. This is a small family owned and operated campground right on the Little River and only 2 miles from the entrance to GSMNP. Our site (12) overlooked the river and we had access to the river to cool off and tube. The pool is very nice - not the newest, but CLEAN and maintained. The bathrooms have a code pinpad for access and security. Any time I went into the bathroom and shower - they were very clean. I really appreciated that. Beautiful mature trees provide shade. We love being outside when we camp, and we all agreed we want to return.
