Beautiful campground. Easy on/off to I-95. We stayed here for one night on our way to Disney World. If you are coming from NYC or central NJ this was the halfway point. This park was immaculate, dog friendly with a Kamp K9 dog park, and helpful management. Would absolutely stay here again.
The only good thing that I can say about this place is that the beach is beautiful. We had a beachfront site which truly was directly across the street from the beach. If you are not beachfront or in the beach area, it is a bit of a hike to the beach which could be bothersome since there are no public restrooms located on the beach. The public restrooms in the park were FILTHY, no soap in any of them, horribly smelly! The permanent/seasonal sites were a mixture of decades old trailers and some newer models which gave it a somewhat shabby trailer park appearance. The pool area/lazy river were nice but the pool water appeared a little murky for my taste. The sites were good sized for the beach but are not raked up or groomed in any way in between visitors making them somewhat dirty. We had to clean our site personally before allowing our dog out due to chicken bones, beer caps, etc. being left there. However the biggest problem was the nightly golf cart "cruise" up and down the beach front past our site. This went on until 11PM each night with unruly drivers, LOUD music, air horns, screaming, etc. We have camped in many campgrounds and NEVER been witness to such an annoying spectacle. Unless you too were getting drunk and rowdy, it was hardly entertaining. The nightly scene had my poor dog cowering under the table all night long. Sitting outside and relaxing was not an option! When I spoke to management I was treated like a fool for complaining about this and was told "you're the only one complaining". I understand that this is considered fun in that region but feel that it should be controlled and/or limited. Management looked at me like I had 2 heads when I suggested that.
Stayed here in April for the Carlisle Swap Meet. The owners guided us to our site, gave us expert directions to the fairgrounds in order to avoid traffic. This place was extra clean, friendly owners, new gravel on sites, no problems. Booked for the fall swap meet while we were here.
It had been a 4 year gap since we last camped here and we were quite excited to revisit and see all the improvements made. We were not disappointed! This owner family has succeeded in turning this park into a top notch family resort destination. The owners were hands-on and very welcoming and friendly. We camped in a 30 footer and our site was easy to back into. We arrived late and were met by security and escorted to our site. We stayed for a Halloween weekend and cannot wait to go back this summer to try out the waterpark.
This was a very nice campground for the price. It was a mostly seasonal resort with just a handful of transient sites available, yet we were not made to feel like outsiders. We arrived after the office was closed but were promptly met by security and escorted to our site. Everyone we spoke with was polite and helpful. It was a short 10 minute ride to Cape Henlopen beach and the historic area. Our site was on the small side but unless you are planning to never leave the site it shouldn't be a problem. We would definitely go back.
