I stayed here in December for a month of training with my company. The park is very easy to get in and out. Angled back-in parking was a snap. Sites are just off level -- will have to make some adjustments. The Staff are GREAT -- from check-in, LP filling, grocery stocking and hot coffee in the office -- just GREAT folks! This park needs a play ground for kids. Some reminders to long term residents to keep their space more tidy would make a big difference in my scoring. Would stay here again if in the area.
For what it is, this is a good campground. This is an O-L-D campground and the faded lady is showing some wrinkles. I was here for two months @$450/month including elec. I had a work assignment in Dallas. This was the best value for temp housing. The pool was sparkling clean when my family came to visit. Many FT workers who leave on the weekend to go back home. Recent ownership change -- many new faces all going through training -- all very helpful. Very few overnight sites. Many sites appear to be small; but, you can park near anything in this place. AMAZING interstate access to north Dallas or downtown.
Stayed here for a recent rally -- price reflects rally discount. CG is a great over-night stay -- EZ off, EZ on for US75. Warning -- Highway noise is constant through night and day. Most sites are EZ access pull-through. Toilet and shower facilities were clean and well lighted. This IS NOT a kid friendly park. There are no playground facilities. This is the BIG negative for this park. Hook-ups and up-to-date electric are A-1 condition. Club house could use some updating.
This was a great over-night stay for us. Rate was w/ SKP card. EZ pull throughs -- nice flowers -- great views of mountains at sunset. Wide and long sites. Nice town for a relaxing week. Family owned CG -- quick check-in. No extra's like pool, play ground ect. Keeps cost reasonable.
Very friendly family owned CG. Sewer hook ups are awkward -- under middle of the rig -- CG staff did the hook up. Pool was a little dirty -- needed a filter change. Kids liked it anyway. Most sites are grass pull through. EZ to find from interstate. Nice little town and quaint grocery. Great place for overnight stays or a week for recharging batteries -- personal and in the rig.
This place is old, run down and poorly maintained. It lies in a flood plain of the Yellow River - guest receive a written warning the place is subject to flooding. We stayed 3 or 4 nights. Trash over flowed containers. Sewage drains showed recent signs of overflow. Interior potholes were linked by sparse asphalt. Crazy, stupid, steep entry/exit. Never again. Elect and water were OK.
Great State Park! Play ground and horse facilities - golf for those inclined with very reasonable fees. This can be a destination CG for time away from the hustle of life. Small Grocery stores in town. Warning: there is a steep approach to the rail road crossing in town - real danger of bottom scrapes - approach with caution. You have to cross this thing to get to park. Staff/rangers were great - went out of the way to interact with our child!
Small family owned park. $100+elec for month. Wide gravel sites and access road. Near VA Hospital and 70 mi to Dallas. No bath house, no pool, no play ground. Fair price in coin laundry. Stayed for some health stuff at VA. Very good CG for FT RVers. BIG fire works stand open in June.
Older park now owned by SKPs. Great staff! Used this park as an overnight before going WDW Ft. Wilderness. Wide grassy site - indoor pool - clubhouse w/evening activities. Many snowbirds; but, always space for SKP members. Even though this park caters to FT RVers, our family felt VERY welcome. Propane fill was quick and elec was fair metered price. Will use this CG for all future launches to WDW.
Part of a health mine spa. You do not need to participate in the health mine activities. Great trout fishing on Boulder River. Rec hall w/pot luck on Wed? and Church on Sunday. Wi-Fi in rec hall (works in some close by sites). Very small town - nice coffee shop and art gallery in town. CG has small old playground equip. Local school house has new play ground @ 1/2 mile from CG. Nice level valley - good for daily walks or bicycle rides.
This is a Great County owned park. We stayed here in April and October 2006. Staff are friendly. Sites are well maintained. Beach is clean. A NEW playground was built in summer 2006 -- the kids love it! Bath rooms were recently renovated. When in North Georgia, this is our favorite CG. Note: Big rigs are OK; but a tight squeeze in most sites.
