Small very quaint, no frills campground. Owner was very nice and helped us getting into our spot. Very good gravel road and level ground to park. We were surprised with the good reception we got from the basic cable the park offered. I have a wireless (Verizon) card that worked very well at the campground even though it is a wooded area. We would stay here again.
The park is immaculate. We were in a 39' motorhome towing a mini van and the pull through fit us fine. The pool was small but very clean. The roads are gravel but very well packed and easy to maneuver. We were passing through for just one night but would certainly stay longer. It is a no frills park but it does have a nice covered pavilion with tables and chairs. I did not see any playground. It is off I-75 and easy to get to by just following the signs.
To start I have to say that the park is under new management so it is a big change from the previous reviews. They are very pleasant and willing to accommodate. We came down and stayed until the end of January 2009. We enjoyed so much that we left out motorhome stored at the park (yes, there is storage available), drove home and are returning for another month in March 2009. The park roads have been repaved. There is excellent Verizon signal and we had no problem with our DirecTV signal. There is a Wal-mart in Clewiston which makes it handy to purchase groceries. Given that we were here during snowbird season, there were a lot of activities (bingo, horse races, parties on the weekend). The park is 1 1/2 hours from Miami.
We really enjoyed the park. Lots of activities for the kids (bingo, ice cream making) and continental breakfast at the pavillion in the mornings. I do have to agree with other reviews that the roads to the sites are not the best but the site was roomy. The sites for larger RV are much better than the sites for smaller units. Being that it was the summer all the park acitivities were open including the water taxi, even though only during the weekend. Unlike in the winter, which the park is only open for the Snow Mountain event, the office / store is open all day. I have Verizon and had no problem getting bars. I have DirecTV and also was able to get cable.
This is a beautiful park. If you want 50 amp, there are only a few 50 amp sites so you need to make sure and specify 50 amp when you make reservations. It has a swimming lake and an activities lake. There is a small store on site but I suggest that if you do not want to take the ride out to the nearest town, bring what you need ahead of time. They only thing that was a disappointment, there were no bars on my Verizon phone. We had to walk out to just one spot near the lake to get any kind of signal. So, if you are looking for total peace and quiet with no cell ringing, this is the place. We totally enjoyed it!! If you have kids, there is plenty to do for them.
We were passing through so just stayed one night. Nevertheless we were very impressed that the owner was standing outside and welcoming us in. The spot was large and roomy. I would stay here longer next time around. I had enough bars with my Verizon.
