This is a private members campground which allows non-members to camp if sites are available. There are actually two campgrounds with this name (this one in Saratoga and another one near Lake George). The members work in the campground, but the owners live in Michigan. This was the only problem I had with the campground, because if anything went wrong, the workers response was always "call Michigan". I booked a full-hook up site and when I arrived they told me that the Saratoga campground doesn't have full-hook ups. My in-laws booked a 1 room cabin, which was supposed to have a bed and a bunk bed. When they arrived the cabin#6 had only a futon and a bunk bed. Their response to both complaints was to "call Michigan". Other than that, the campground was beautiful. Our camp sites#77 & 79 overlooking the lake was picturesque. There was excellent fishing in the lake. The grounds were well kept; the bathroom/showers were clean and the workers/members were friendly and helpful. I would return and definitely stay on the lake.

This is an old style campground, much like the way I remember camping when I started camping 25 years ago. No cookie cutter sites, that all look alike. There's a winding road around the lake, and the sites put in between the trees around the lake. If you like relaxing and fishing this is a good campground for you. I didn't like the 'catch and eat' fishing policy, because it's not a huge lake. There isn't much activities for kids or a pool. (My daughter wouldn't go swimming in the lake after she saw us fishing in the same spot). The owners were friendly; they walked around and visited each site to say hello. I think big rigs would have a problem here, because of narrow roads and overhang branches, but for us that added to the seclusion. We enjoyed this retro-campground, but I think I have been spoiled with the modern amenities. However I would return.

The best feature of this campsite is the location. It is north of the Falls so there was no traffic. We did not spend much time at the campsite; therefore we did not utilize all the activities. Very friendly and helpful staff, clean bathrooms and level site. We did swim in the pool which was in okay condition. It could use a little TLC.

This is a well maintained campground and we camp there annually every Columbus Day. It has a lot to offer for families and the Halloween weekend was a blast. However, the 2 reasons I can't give a higher rating is the high holiday rate and their reservation policy, because each year it changes. We used to reserve the same sites each year, if we booked them before we checked out. This year, other campers we able to reserve our sites without giving us the option. When asked why the change in policy, the owners insisted it was always that way, and it did not matter that we've been camping there for years. It seemed that they did not appreciate their loyal customers.

This was a well maintained campground; however, it was an older campground. We stayed during the week; so I can't comment on the activities provided. It is in an excellent location for traveling to and from Six Flags Great Adventure. It is about 30 minutes from PT Pleasant Beach. The staff was friendly.

This was a well maintained campground with an extremely helpful, courteous staff. I reserved 3 cabins & 3 full hooks sites 7 months in advance for a family gathering. When I arrived upon check-in, I was told the sites we reserved became "seasonal" and we were placed in different parts of the campground. After protesting, the staff was able to move 2 sites closer to the cabins. However, site #A6 was more like a parking spot than a site. There was no room for a fire ring, and the entrance of my front door was on the road. All the river front sites were taken by the seasonals. If I was to return I would confirm my reservations and not book site#A6.

There are some good & poor aspects about this park. The staff are friendly & helpful. There is allot of outdoor fun: canoeing, tubing, and fishing. There are allot of kids activities, which are announced on a loud speaker, when they begin. This was a nice feature. The food; BBQ, pancakes, and pizza were all good. The ice cream pallor was the best amenity of the campground. The poor aspects were the bathhouse/restroom. It was horrendous. They were in the process of building a new one for 2010. The concrete around the pool needed upkeep. The building, which housed the office/rec hall/store looks like it may collapse. The sites on the hill are too close together. We stayed on the w/e sites by the river. These were good; however, all grass, no gravel. When it rained, it became muddy. I would return, but only after the renovations.

There are alot of positive aspects for this campground: very clean restrooms/showers, crystal clear pool water, clean & tidy surroundings, alot of sport amenities, well stocked camp store, excellent snack cafe, alot of daily children activities, game room with air hockey/pool table/ping-pong table (rarely see all 3), modern playground equipment, excellent rental lodges/cabins, & a very helpful, courteous staff. However, there are 2 reasons why I can't give a 10 rating. First the HILL. The entire campground is a hill, and all the amenities are at the bottom. So everyone drives their cars to get to the pool, store, etc...There is a town road, which separates the campground by the pool, and the locals drive beyond the speed limit on it. Second, the RV sites lacked gravel. The rental RV sites had gravel, but the rest were grass/dirt. It rained for 1 day during my stay, and I spent the next day battling mud. Despite those 2 exceptions, it is a wonderful park & I will return.

We camped there during Memorial Day weekend & the place was crowded. The staff was friendly. The pool was supposed to be heated, but it wasn't. If you are able to get a lakeside spot, you would have enough space; however, we did not. Our lots were small, and everyone was on top of one another. My in-laws stayed in the cabins, and they were in great condition. There were alot of activities for everyone. I would return only if I could book a lakeside spot.
