We had to stay here until an opening at another park came open. This is not an RV Park, it is a full time parking area. Several rigs are very old and the sites look bad. Good Sam should be ashamed of itself for allowing this park to fly the logo. Nothing but long terms: the new manager is nice but clueless! 45 sites and three overnight sites; very tight, the road leaving the park is terrible. Be cautious.

This is our 2nd time here and it just gets better every time. The Fire Fighter memorial is beautiful! The grounds are perfect. During our stay it rained 4" however this did not slow the owners down one bit. They were out helping guests set up. The new Wi-Fi system is very fast, cable TV is great and the bath houses are amazing! It is difficult to understand how such a small staff does such a great job. If you are coming here make sure you get a reservation, they fill up every night to capacity! We really liked the fact that not many children visit here. We will definitely be back!

This park has not upgraded anything in years. The electrical hook-ups are worn and broken. It took us three different sites to find a plug that was not damaged. The owner stated "Why should I replace them, it is people like you that damage them"! We would have left right then but we were meeting some friends that rented a cabin. The roads are terrible, several ruts run the length of the main road, they drop large rocks hoping that they will be pressed into the road so it makes it very hard to walk. The bathrooms are terrible as well. When I brought the condition to the attention of the Manager she stated "If you do not like the way we clean, use you own bathroom"! I guess she has a point there. When I told her about the reviews they receive she stated "And here you are"! Again, she had a point. There are several old, ran down mobile home's that should be condemned and removed. It appears people still live in them. This is a very, very bad park!

Not sure where to start. We wanted to stay at Tall Pines but they were full (Make sure to get a reservation there). No one was around, the first site we pulled into the electric (50 amp plug) was burnt, no way was I plugging into that, the second site electrical was OK but the trash on the site was terrible. One of the LONG TERM residents came over to assist. They said the manager was rarely around and they didn't pick up the garbage for the last two days that is why it was so bad. We decided to leave and head down the road when Tall pines called and said they had a cancellation. The night turned out to be wonderful after we got set up there. If you are looking for an overnight place, you might want to pass Campers RV by and head else where. It is primarily local workers, no longer a RV Park but a trailer park. (We did not stay in this park)

I rated this park a little higher than it is because of the staff. Jason was so helpful that offset any small negatives. If you are looking for a nice overnight spot and don't mind backing in then this is a very nice place. No frills or extras, just good power and water. Easy access, be cautious of the immediate turn to the right as you enter the property, it comes up very fast.

Now this is what an RV Park should look like! It is beautiful! The bright yellow blocks and the well manicured grass is great. The staff is beyond great. I told them we tried to get in last night but they were full, Tom apologized and gave us a wonderful bottle of wine. The bathrooms were the cleanest Public room that I have ever seen! The night security stopped by and chatted with us while we sipped on our wine. The Wi-FI worked excellent and the Cable TV was crystal clear. The next morning we enjoyed a wonderful cup of coffee. We were staying on night and decided to stay three! The Fire Fighter Memorial is awesome. While we were there two fire engines pulled up, turned on the RED lights, got out, walked over to the Memorial. All bowed their heads and said the Fire Fighters Prayer. My wife and I was so touched. WHAT A CLASSY PLACE! Thank you Tom and Tracy for a wonderful experience! We will be back!

This park was recommended to us by a park in Louisiana (Shreveport). It has lived up to what we were told. A very nice location! The staff was most helpful, the grounds were clean and the amenities worked great. We will be back!

Nice for a very short stay. We would have enjoyed it more, but it was in the 100's, so we stayed in the 5th wheel most of the time. Nice staff. It could use just a little more shade.

We had a very serious problem at the KOA across the Lake and we ended up at this state park. I am so glad we did. The Rangers and staff were wonderful, we told them what happened to us at at the KOA and they said it happens all the time so I don't feel so bad. This place is very clean, the sites were wonderful. I highly recommend this location, great for the price! We will be back. The other area parks should take some lessons from this place.

Nice Staff, great view of the Gulf but the sites are so close we were touching the other rig if we put out our awning, poorly laid out. The Wi-Fi was down due to a storm (we understand problems do happen). We lost electricity for an hour but other than that it was OK. I would not return.

This is a nice park for an overnight stay. The restaurant as nice. The staff was very helpful. I do not stay at KOA's very often but I would stay here again if in the area.

Where do I start? I should have read the reviews on this place before stopping here. What is KOA, or for that fact, anyone thinking? This is not an RV park! When we arrived there is sign that says, "Stop here, walk to office"! That is what I did. When I walked into the office this lady (the Manager) stated, "Can't you read?" I asked her what she meant by that, and she stated I was instructed to leave my RV at the entrance and walk into the office. I responded, "I DID! My RV is at the sign." She looked out the window and said, "OH, SO IT IS?" No apology or anything. I was dead tired and needed to sleep. In short the electric did not work, we had to move three times; the third time there was no sewer. OK, I can live with that. The water smelled terrible, like very strong bleach. I told them that we had decided to leave and find something better and asked for a refund. She said you only have one hour for a refund, and it has been 1.5 hours. We spent an hour trying to get a spot that worked. Finally the owner rode up on a little motorcycle and told me to leave, and if I had a problem to call KOA in Billings. We left $42.00 poorer. I didn't even mention the bath houses; my god they are terrible. What a crap hole KOA has in Texas!!!

This is a clean place, but if you are not into the Casinos (as we are not) you may want to pass. The staff was nice but for the price I would stay else where, actually we tried to get reservation at the Tall Pines but they were full. Would stay here if we had to.
