Our rate included a Good Sam discount. The sites were spacious with green grass and shade trees. There is a fire pit at most sites. There are no bugs, no trains, and no freeway noise. Everything is close: Wal-Mart, restaurants, freeway, downtown. We drove to Devils Tower from here and it was about an hour and a nice drive. Go through Belle Fourche on the way home from the tower it's a pretty drive. Owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Small petting zoo. WiFi was very good. About 350 bikers joined the camp after we arrived, and we didn't hear a peep from them. I did not see the bathrooms or laundry, but the buildings looked a bit older. There is a small charge for the showers. I would love to stay here a full summer, so we would definitely stay here again.
The rate includes KOA discount. This park is not located near any stores except one gas station with a mini-mart, one restaurant in the 1880 Town 50s Diner Train (for breakfast and lunch), and no other stores. The KOA does offer a continental breakfast and some light fare for lunch. The campground was well-maintained, but the laundry area is in a steel building with few or no windows and a library. The area is quiet and peaceful and overlooks a small lake. There are lots of bunnies running around the campground, which was entertaining. The owners are very friendly and helpful and seem like they would go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. We did not check out the showers or bathrooms. The Wi-Fi worked well, but if you have 2 computers, be sure to get 2 pass codes. We would stay here again.
The amount we paid includes Passport America discount. All of the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The park was well-maintained. The laundry room and bathrooms were very clean and the laundry table was a good height for folding. The commons area was very comfortable and has a library with comfortable chairs and tables. The handicapped bathroom could have used a wooden door instead of a shower curtain for the dressing area. There are trains that come through in the evening, but we have learned to deal with this as many campgrounds have this same issue--they pass quickly. The campground is very close to a Wal-Mart, many restaurants, and shopping. It is behind the motel, which is also well-maintained. The Wi-Fi worked well. We look forward to returning to this campground.
The rate we paid included the Good Sam discount. The campground is clean and well-kept. Staff is friendly. This campground is specifically geared toward kids. There is a lot for them to do. There is a nice petting zoo. You can rent golf carts to use in the campground. There is a nice cafe that serves a limited menu. We had pizza and it was very good. I would suggest that they change from styrofoam plates to something less dangerous to the environment. Grocery and other supplies were readily available. We did have an experience that was difficult. They parked us in the incorrect spot. About 3 hours later, they asked us to move. As we are older and try to keep our days simple, this was quite a chore to unhook utilities, pull in slide-out, put everything away inside the unit, repark, and set up all over again. What was not satisfactory is that they offered us no compensation for their error, which they readily admitted it to be. We had intended to walk to the petting zoo and to have breakfast at the cafe the next morning. But, because of the experience, we had no energy left to walk, and no interest in giving them more funds. We could have asked for compensation of some sort, but if they were concerned about their customers, they should have offered it to us in some way--other than free donuts in the morning that everyone can get.
The rate we paid was after our Good Sam discount. This park is uniquely set up in a circular design, which worked quite well. The sites were level gravel with grass between. Each site had a picnic table. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The WiFi worked for only one of our PCs. Because we stayed here 5 days, it was a bit disconcerting not to be able to use both PCs. The signal was intermittent as well. We really liked the fact that there were few children, as we are retired. It's promoted as for the "older kids." The campground is very convenient to The Dells activities, Wal-Mart, and other stores and restaurants. The campground is very clean and well-kept.
The rate we paid included discounts for Passport America. The staff is very helpful and suggested area attractions. The sites were mostly level gravel with grass between sites. Each site had a fire pit and picnic table. There is good street lighting. The campground is quite popular with kids. They have activities and "cow" rides, like hay rides but in a wagon decorated like a cow. The grounds were very clean. We stayed here during the flooding in Wisconsin. The campground was never flooded, although the nearby creek overflowed its banks. The nearest Wal-Mart is about 4 miles. The nearest eating place is Rico's, which had great food at a good price; it was about a 4-mile drive. Green Bay downtown is approximately 10 miles away. Campground is near the freeway, but no noise. We would definitely stay here again.
This park was very clean, but in need of updates. Typical older KOA. The showers were clean but very old and dated. They need a complete redo. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It rained while we were there and in no time, we were completely flooded at our site. They obviously experience this a lot as they brought out siphons. However, it took over 48 hours to recede. Adding gravel to the sites and road would certainly help. Many campers were forced to leave because they have 5-6 inches of water at their sites. They should certainly take care of these low-level sites. The campground is in the middle of a very industrial area, although we felt quite safe. The stores are about 4 miles away. There are trains and trains and more trains. The tracks are right next to the campground and the trains at 6 PM and 6 AM blow very loud whistles three times each time they came to the campground. Although we dealt with it, it was noisy. All this said, I think it was the better of campground choices around the St. Louis area.
This park was a wonderful park, as stated by previous reviewers. Plenty of space between sites. We had excellent WiFi. The staff was very friendly. The facilities were very clean and well taken care of. We really enjoyed the shower/bath facilities. They were very spacious and we really liked the all-in-one rooms with shower, dressing, and toilet facilities in one spacious room. More campers need to know about this place. Even though this park is not a Good Sam park, they gave us a $2 discount for being members. There was even a TV with remote control in the laundry area, a nice extra touch. Everything was immaculate.
We paid almost $31 with the Good Sam discount and tax. We parked close to the freeway offramp, but the noise was not too distracting. We did not need sewer, so that's why we were parked in that location. The sites were a little close together, but it was not overly crowded. The campground is very clean. The sites were gravel and level. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We did not use the facilities. WiFi worked very well. We would definitely return.
This park is clean and friendly. It doesn't look like much from the street, but when you get back to the spaces, it's very clean and spaces are ample, level, lava rock (gravel) with patches of grass between sites. The office buildings are older, but very clean. Each spot has a picnic table, but no cement pad. The Wi-Fi is good and available at all spaces. I would definitely stop here again when I return to Amarillo.
Campground was close to I-40 and a little noisy, but you expect that when you are close to the freeway. The campground is a little more than a parking lot with level gravel sites. But, it was clean and convenient. The indoor pool and bathhouse have access cards (like hotels). The office area was accommodating with free coffee and newspapers. The Wi-Fi was in-and-out. I would stay here again if the opportunity presented itself. It is conveniently located to a Camping World and lots of stores and eating establishments.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The campsites are ample in size, a wee bit close together, but not bad. They have a good sized cement pad with picnic table. We got snowed in and had to stay an extra day. They were accommodating in letting us stay the extra day and pay on our way out so that we didn't have to unhook the trailer. The staff showed us to our site. When we had electrical problems, they came quickly to help us figure out it was operator error. We enjoyed watching all the tugboat and barge activity. We were parked right next to the river. WiFi was exceptionally good. The TV reception (air) was good as well. The grounds were clean and well-kept. This is a good park to sightsee from if you want to go into Memphis, TN. It was only about 5 miles from town. Would definitely come back.
Campsites are level and easy to pull into. They are a bit narrow, as the previous reviewer stated. Upon check-in, the staff is a bit distracted by taking care of convenience store purchasers as well. But they were quick and efficient once they got to us. We were parked right at the lakefront, which was very peaceful. This was our first trip out for the season, and we had several breakdowns. The park suggested we call Mike of M&C Mobile RV Service. I don't know what we would have done without his help. He found several water leaks and fixed those as well as some malfunctions in our RV that we didn't even know about. He worked well into the evening to make sure we were fixed up. He even went shopping for fixtures for us. We were pleasantly surprised by the low cost for all the repairs he made. If you are ever in the area, ask him to check your RV! The campground is a great place to relax with a swimming area and I'd love to come back in the summer.
We camped here for our very first adventure with our new travel trailer. The campground was clean and felt private. There were a lot of trees and we had a great view of the lake. The sites were gravel, but the gravel was kept neatly contained by railroad ties. There were really easy to use and clean campfire/BBQ rings. They also had a permanent pole near the picnic table on which to hang a lantern. The dump station was well-maintained. We would return again without hesitation, if only they had sewer hookups!
When we arrived, the staff was very attentive and worked like a well-oiled machine. We had reservations, but did not like the spot they picked out for us as it was difficult to maneuvers (our rig is 52-ft long with car and trailer), so they quickly found another one. It was also tricky to maneuver (but they had 3 very helpful men directing us). The grounds were well-kept and clean. The road and site surface is ground oyster shells (typical for Florida) with patches of grass behind the site. It was quiet. They had their "birthday" celebration while we were there and seemed to have a lot of activities, especially for kids. We didn't attend. Their store was well-stocked. A large caravan of approx. 30 RVs arrived while we were there, and it was handled quite efficiently (we were parked close to the office and could see all the activity). We stayed for 5 nights and would gladly return.
