We had passed this park several times on the way to San Leon and decided to make a weekend trip getaway. Park was nice. Pads were gravel and very spacious. Camp host extremely accommodating and hospitable. Told us to just pick out where we wanted to stay! Chose to pick a site that overlooked the bayou and it was absolutely gorgeous. Not a lot of shade and unfortunately it was very windy and couldn't use the awming. Neighbor said it's "always" windy. There appeared to be a lot of long timers at the park. Not necessarily a bad thing. They were very friendly. The only two thumbs down: the tap water was disgusting. Had to make a run for bottled water. Second was that the rules weren't enforced as it relates to pets. A couple of dogs were running loose and "Mr. B" did his business behind our trailer. Other than that, very quiet and serene. There were no family activities that I saw. Especially since the sign near the bayou said "Swim at your own risk. Watch for alligators." (We didn't see any.) Nice place for sitting, relaxing and soaking up some sun. Restrooms and showers were immaculant, even though we didn't use. I just thought I'd check them out for the review. We'll be back.

This was our 2nd stay at this park. The waterfront view of the sunrises and sunsets were absolutely amazing. Not a lot of activities other than fishing. Because of the undertow, swimming is not recommended. Quiet and well kept park. My only recommendation is to request a site on the first row where the back of your camper faces the ocean: not the bay side. Sites on this row are much easier to back in especially with a 34' or longer.

Our first outing and I was impressed. Easy access, large sites and DH said it was easy hook up. My only, repeat only, complaint is that we did not have a fire ring or BBQ pit. Since we're newbee's, maybe this isn't unusual - but to me, it was a little disappointing. We went in late February - trees were bare. I'm sure it would be very pretty in the spring/summer/fall. Trails along the Colorado River are nice with nice swings to sit on and watch the river flow.

Bay RV was okay - nothing spectacular. Great location if you want to explore the area such as Galveston and Kemah. If you want to be entertained at the park, look elsewhere. No activities for the kiddo's. No picnic tables. No grills. Again, nothing spectacular.
