Campsite was a pull through and was level and grassy. However, these sites are extremely narrow and had our neighbor been parked all the way over on his lot our awning would have touched their trailer. This would be an extremely packed area had the campground been full. The playground has some interesting items (all made out of scrap wood) but there is little standard playground equipment. It appears somewhat dated and is really lacking things for the children to play on. The pool is extremely small for a campground of this size. There is a small beach but most of it is rocky. The washrooms were clean but appeared dated as did most of the items at this campground. There is also a historic graveyard literally feet some of the sites. This is not something we were told about and while it may be fine for some, I find it rather unsettling to be sleeping that close to graves. The graveyard is in disrepair and it is obviously not respected or tended to.
The camping area that we were assigned was literally a paved parking area with a bit of gravel over some of it. We have stayed in other Jellystone parks before and this does not compare. There were announcements over a loud speaker every half an hour or so and there were additional charges for the kids activities (pool, mini golf, etc.) We were looking for a campground close to the border but we will not stay here again. I compare it to camping in a crowded mall parking lot.
Very large park but there is little grass and this makes the campsites somewhat dirty. Our site was near the washrooms and rec hall and was too open for our taste. There were a lot of older children running around making a lot of noise after dark, despite the managers efforts to keep it under control. Since bears were spotted in the park, we took our bbq in every night. It's a nice campground but I don't think that it should be rated "New Hampshire's best".
Campsites were relatively level but with the mature trees overhead, there is no grass. This makes for a very dirty campsite and a lot of dirt tracked into the trailer. The campsites are also very narrow. We didn't experience the electrical problems but would agree that the campsites were rustic. The staff were very helpful and actually escorted us to our site and made sure that we were set up and didn't need anything. There is a trolley service to the area and some activities for the kids. The playground was great for both toddlers and kids. We camped next to the playground.
Campground has a wonderful atmosphere and our fellow campers were really friendly. The kids loved the little rabbits running around. The playground could use an update, especially for smaller children but overall we enjoyed our stay.
Sites are very small but level. Small young trees are between the sites but I found the campground to have a lot of bugs. There is not much here for tots. Probably won't camp here again, as the sites are small and it lacked equipment for smaller children.
Can't say enough good stuff about this campground. Well maintained, with level lots. Kids activities planned every 1/2 hour. Has a clean, life guarded pool. Friendly knowledgeable staff. We stayed in the deluxe neighborhood and we are glad we did because the other sections were packed. Don't bother planning activities for the surrounding area, you don't need to leave the campground for entertainment. There is enough to do at the campground alone, and the kids will love it.
Stunning views. Well maintained, level sites. Beach access. The beach is mud flats that are suitable for clamming. The pool was not operational despite it being late June. The rec hall was not open and looked like it needed maintenance. Additionally, the washrooms were undergoing maintenance and only one was operational. The playground was dated but the kids enjoyed it. Friendly, helpful staff with good knowledge of the area.
Some sites have beautiful views, others are mostly field camping. We stayed in May and the pool was not operational. They have a nice walking trail but the field site was not level. The view of the playground is good but the equipment is dated.
Sites were relatively level, but because they were not completely grassed there was a lot of dirt tracked into the trailer. The picnic tables were old and there were a lot of ants. They have some great concepts but some things require maintenance. The little wading pool was filthy and I would not let my toddler in it. The campground is quiet and the people friendly.
