This is a great campground with a ton of stuff for the kids to do. Short drive into Old Orchard Beach, and they offer a free shuttle into town or the beach if you don't want to drive. Very nice poolside restaurant that also serves beer and wine. I had a mechanical issue with my travel trailer. I called the office and they sent out their on site maintenance guy free of charge. I would rate this place higher if only the sites were a little larger. As for the previous review complaining about too many kids and too many campfires: it's a family campground and you are complaining that there were kids? And campfires at a campground? OMG say it ain't so!
As to the two posters who complained about their GPS taking them the wrong way to the CG. You both state that the CG website offers a better route. How is it the CG's fault that you chose to go by the GPS directions instead of the CG directions? We love this place and will come back again many times. One of the few CG's in New England that include two adults and children in the cost of the site. We enjoy the amount of trees in the CG and the secluded feel that you get while camping here. Very large sites, we stayed on site #37, a grass site. Very level side to side. I didn't even have to use any blocks under my tires and was still level side to side. The only things that would make this a better CG is if the the cost of the water slide was included in the site fee. I would be willing to pay a little more for my site if I didn't have to pay for my kids to use the slide. And if the CG offered sites with cable tv. Even with the new digital converter box the channel selections are a little slim. Overall a great family campground that we have been to 3 times now and will continue to return to. We stayed here in a 30' TT. Combined with my Yukon XL it is pretty long and had no problem getting into or out of the CG or any of the sites that we have been in.
Well worth the money they charge for a site. Spotless CG with fantastic amenities. Great pools and a ton of stuff for the kids to do. If you have a dog, they have a very large, fenced in, dog park. They also have many stations around the CG with little bags on poles that make it very easy for pet owners to clean up after their dogs. We will return year after year. The only thing they could do better is add more sites with cable TV.
This is a beautiful campground. However, they call themselves a "family camping resort" but their rates are based on 2 adults. They charge an extra $7.50 per child. We stayed on a premium lake front site, #85. Very nice site with concrete pad and wooden bench. But definitely not worth the $97.50 per night that we payed for our family of 5. I would have rated this CG a 9 if they included at least 2 children in the rate. I did know about the extra charge for the children before booking but I don't know how they consider a family to consist of only 2 adults. Other than that this is a great campground with plenty of things for the kids to do.
This is actually a campground that describes itself as a family campground and means it. The rates, ($40.00) per night water/electric/sewer in the summer, are for 2 adults and 3 children. Too many places call themselves a family campground and then charge extra for the children. This is a very quiet and relaxing campground with plenty for the kids to do. They have a great pool and also two huge water slides. The only complaint about the slides is that they charge extra to use them. It is $5 for 5 rides or $20 for an all day pass. There are a couple of water parks in the area (Ct or NH) that don't charge much more then $20 admission and you get a lot more then 2 slides. If they could lower the price a little I would have given the campground a 9 rating. The sites are large and some what private. The seasonal sites are very well kept. I also think they need to cut back on the number of sites that they allow dogs on. It seems that most campers had their dogs with them and some would be barking early in the morning. We will most definitely be back to this campground again.
Nice campground with plenty for the kids to do. Site 20 is listed as a pull through, which it is as long as no one is in site 19. We were able to pull into the site but had to back out of it when were leaving. The bathrooms were dirty (they are near the pool which may contribute to this) and they are not air conditioned. The laundry room and arcade are also not air conditioned. If they added a couple of AC's it would be a great place.
Top notch campground. Easy to get into DC with a Metro bus stop right in the campground. The bus takes you right to a sub way station and from there an easy train ride into DC. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. The kids loved the pools.
By far one of the best campgrounds in the country. Even at $77.00 a night for a site with full hook up and cable it is well worth the money. Like everything Disney it is all about the experience. The only complaint is that the site was a little tight.
The sites are very close together. When we walked out of our door if we walked 5 feet we would have tripped over the neighbors sewer connection. Not at all what we expected from the campground's website. They have 5 washing machines and 5 dryers, when we were there only one of each were working. We actually left two days early.
