Positives are: a beautiful setting watching river rafters at our site (#8), clean and modern facilities, very convenient to town and rafting trips on the premises. Negatives are: it's cramped, with very small sites; trains all night and the smoke from fire rings is nauseating (due to camping right on top of each other). It's a steep hike to bathrooms from the river sites. It's expensive and the sites were not cleaned before our arrival (debris all around).
Spent July and August here without advance reservations! With some creative maneuvering, they were able to fit us in; even though the park was almost always filled. Sites are terraced and shady, which gives you space and privacy. Located close enough to town for convenience, but far enough off the beaten track to feel "secluded". We had a peek of the Colorado river from our site and enjoyed the canyon views very much. We will certainly return in the future to our home away from home!!! Thank you!
