Very tight entrance, lady sent us to a site that was occuppied. Found another site but we had to straddle 2 sites. Very tight had to unhook trailer so we could get out of the site. Do not even consider this park if you exceed 40 feet.
I thought we had reserved a pull thru but none were available, they only have a few. No big deal as I was able to back our car trailer into a site. Only problem was that you would then need 30 feet of sewer hose. Very quiet, very nice and the buffet was wonderful and reasonable.
Right off of I-55, road noise is apparent but with our little fan on, it was not a problem. Sites were long, level and easy access. Check in was a delight and escort to site. Would stay again and recommend
Close to I-10. Could be a great campground but for now it is pretty much run down with a lot of very old RVs. Sites were level but any rig with tow longer than 50' wili get their merit badge for close maneuvering. Next time I think we will try another place. Maybe some day new owners will acquire this place and bring it up to date. It really does have a good location in respect to I-10.
Sites are almost level, parks should invest in a cheap laser level and use it. Would be nice to pull in on a gravel site and have it level front to back and side to side. Would stay here again and recommend it.
WOW!!! Beautiful surroundings, fantastic sites, level concrete pads, good water, good electric, great views, nice covered picnic tables, easy check in. The only downer is no sewer hookup. This has to be one of the best campgrounds. The National Parks should lease theirs parks out to COE and let them fix and run them. I would go out of my way to stay here again. If you go to San Antonio stay here.
Sites are not at all level but could be if management would spend a few hours with a tractor. Lots of older RVs that are in serious need of a wash. Just kind of a rundown aging park. If you do decide to stay, bring a shovel and move some dirt around to make your site level. Park has incredible potential, just needs some vision.
Once upon a time this park was at the top of the game. Now you find brown dried up grass, no shade, little vegetation and the long term sites have uneven and frequently rutted sites. Park maintenance seems to have never used any device to make sure sites are level length to length and side to side. Short term sites have these silly narrow concrete strips on which to park your tires but then your jacks slide into soft ground. The impression is that owners are milking this cash cow and not doing a whole lot to upgrade the park to what customers now expect. No Wi-Fi, no basic cable. On a positive note people are friendly, RV club is super, and clubhouse is very nice. So much potential so little effort.
Great park, easy access, level sites. If you like to go out to eat you are in trouble in this area. Restaurants are basically all fast food. Cracker Barrel is ok, but after awhile one does need a change of pace.
Wow, what a great CG to explore the Skyline drive. Led us to our very level site with a nice view. The only note of caution is to triple check your approach to the cg. Our Garmon led us in via the south end of Kimball, made for an exciting trip in a 40' coach with 20' trailer. So triple check your approach and meet some nice people at a great campground.
Nice basic campground for exploring St. Augustine: sites were level, staff was friendly, everything worked as planned. Would stay here again. If you get hungry for lunch go to the Gourmet Hut across from the old fort, for supper do the Saltwater Cowboys!!!
Park has nice level sites, water and electric but no sewer. The dump station was one of the worst designs possible: sharp curve, on a rise, low brick wall on driver's side which can't be seen from the drivers seat. On the passenger side, there is a significant drop (large enough to possibly roll the coach), and to top it off, the dump is raised. Suggestion: widen the road and rip out that brick wall. Good location for exploring the Keys, but don't miss the turn to the left just before 7 mile bridge.
This is a campground not a resort. Should really be called Quebec South. Staff was very nice and friendly, the sites are level. Considering how many guests have pets, it would be nice if they would place doggie waste cans around. English is not the favored language. Would stay again if in the area.
We were here for almost 2 weeks and enjoyed our stay. However, to enhance your stay I would suggest you obtain a site in the rear of the campground. The road noise from I-80 can be pretty intense and is 24 hours. We have never commented on local restaurants but in this case let me briefly rave about the Nodding Onion in Utica. If you want fried food skip it, but if you want to dine at reasonable prices this is the place.
In October this is a great spot to recharge for a few days. Close to the interstate and yet very little road noise. Sites are large, level, and easy to get in and out of. If passing this way again we would stay here. Watch out for football weekends at Champaign, this place will be full
Nice, quiet park; lots of seasonals, but after Labor Day there is room for us overnighters. We actually stayed for 4 days. The only issue was the lack of sewer hookups. The dumping station is just not located for the big rigs. If you are in a coach larger than 35 feet plan on dumping somewhere else. A new dump site or on site disposal would make this a super nice campground.
Do not venture into this CG if you have a motorhome larger than 30 feet. The "rangers" do not have a clue as to their site sizes. They were at least helpful in that they let us camp at the beach parking lot. Trying to find a place to dispose of dogie waste and trash is kind of like a game of hide and seek. New York is really missing the boat on this place. Should lease it out to a private party, have some big rig sites added and charge a little more. The CG is gorgeous.
Actually 2 different CG's in one place. The old Sleeping Bear is quite nice but the new section called Indigo Bluffs is wonderful. Restricted to new Class A motorhomes each site has full hookups, concrete pad and patio. They are trying to sell lots but for right now you can stay at a very very reasonable rate. Saturday night they provided supper, entertainment, and marvelous conversation. Sunday breakfast was provided. If I was interested in purchasing an RV site in MI this would be at the top of the list.
Great site in September, very quiet, but judging from the number of seasonal sites, I suspect it might be a bit more active in the summer. The falls are fantastic. Easy to get into and out of the sites. We would stay there again when in the area.
Wow, watch out for the trees. Tight fit for a 40 footer but manageable. My concern in the fall would be the chipmunks, they nest everywhere and will eat engine belts and filters. The campground needs a fox or two and maybe some hungry owls. Beware the back fence, it backs up against a very noisy plant site. DO NOT GO TO THE FAIR AVE LOCATION, GO TO SUGARLOAF.
Not at all big rig friendly. Since it was after Labor Day they let us camp at the beach parking lot. Staff has no idea as to site size but they are nice enough. No trash cans, doggy waste has to be hauled half way across the park to recycle center. New York is really missing the boat here, add some electric and water, extend and level 15 sites and this would be a great place to camp for big rigs. Foregoing these improvements this campground is best for tenters and small trailers and I mean small.
A nice alternative to the insanity of Bar Harbor. Very easy access for big rigs, the big boys can't set up next to the water but their sites include water, electric, and sewer. Nice and quiet, without a pool you forgo rugrats and unsmiling teenagers. This is the place for babyboomers who just want to camp out and take day trips.
We are still in the learning stage with a 40' motorcoach towing a 20' car trailer. I was concerned with getting in and out but no problem. We had the whole field to ourselves, all the other sites were full. The hostess is a delight, in person and on the phone. Nice experience and reasonable price.
