This park is behind the Heartbreak Hotel, so it's very quiet even in the middle of the craziness of Graceland. Our spot was very shaded and had a nice grassy lawn with a picnic table. The swimming pool was very small, but nice and clean. The park has a large park area behind the sites to walk the dog. It's full of trees and really nice. From the park you can walk to Graceland and all it has to offer. You can also take a free bus to Sun Studios and there's a bus to downtown Memphis for a fee as well.
This KOA is full of trees: there's so much shade, its fantastic. Its also far away from any major road, so its extremely quiet as well. We enjoyed walking the dog around the several acres the park has, and also enjoyed the dog run. The pool is huge: much bigger than most we've seen and the playground for the kids was awesome. It was also really close to the Jim Beam distillery, which was a fun and unexpected side trip. The staff was great too, very helpful.
We stayed here for 2 months and loved everything about it. It's the cleanest park I've ever seen. They pick up your trash for you and they have recycling bins, which more parks need to have. The restrooms and showers are private and incredibly clean as well. Our space (#29) was very large and each site has one tree and a picnic table. The lake is beautiful as well. You can take a boat out (catch and release) and get some private time. The staff is also great. Super helpful every time I needed something and the owner was always on hand for bigger jobs around the park. It was a great two months. I hated to leave!
This is a Good Sam approved campground, but I think its been a while since they've seen it. I wouldn't really call it a campground, its a few spots in a large mobile home park, which makes it almost impossible to find. You're looking for a campsite and you just see mobile homes. The sites are not level, we actually had to move to another site and even that was unlevel, but good enough for one night. There was a lot of trash all over. It looked like the dumpsters hadn't been emptied in weeks. The management office was literally empty. Don't plan on getting any supplies.
