Great campground only 8 miles south of I-94 (Bismarck). Numerous first come first serve sites are available with 30 amp and water with a dump station on the way out. Large sites and lots of room for the kids and pets with a great playground and river access for swimming.
A little pricey even by KOA standards at $48. But it's the only campground right off the freeway. Highway noise is also an issue, but with A/C going you don't hear it. Neat and clean as you'd expect from a KOA. Would stay again. A cheaper alternative would be the State Park, 8 miles south of town. Price was only $20 for 30 Amp and water.
What a great campground, beautiful large sites with trees and grass. Would highly recommend this park to stay for multiple days . Half of the sites are first come first serve, so you should be able to get a site. Great place, very relaxing and there were no bugs to speak of. May or may not be able to get satellite signal because of all the trees. Local channels available over the air however, and Verizon 3G was good for data and cell service. Would definitely return.
OK for a night or two, mostly long term oil workers staying here now. Fully recovered from floods. Sites are close together but will accommodate most any rig. Would stay again for a night. The store does not have any ice for sale.
Older campground which is well kept and the staff was friendly. Sites are close together with 30amp and water. OK for a night or 2 and it also had a pool. Price was right also. Would stay again.
Very nice staff. Park is clean but pricey. Sites are right next to each other with no room with slides out. If you have slides on both sides you may want to go elsewhere. Other than that we had a good stay.
Campground is 27 miles north of Grand Marais on the Gun Flint Trail. Sites are private and close to a lake. The positives are the beautiful surroundings and the remoteness. They have a great staff here as well. The negatives are the lack of useable WiFi and setup for turning around and getting in and out of some of the sites. Don't try to camp here with anything bigger than 36 ft. It's nearly impossible to get in and out of some of the sites. Also don't be fooled by the rate, they charge extra for everything. The bugs are bad also, but that is to be expected for this part of the country. Overall we had a good time.
Pricey for the size of the sites. You are right on top of the rig next to you(on the upper sites) and it's very tight getting parked. Insist on a site in the lower level, they are larger and there is more room to get backed up. Most of the sites are back in and the sites that are pull through are right on the main road (like 10 feet from the road). There are no fire rings supposedly because the city won't allow it. I find that bogus because the guy accross the street from the campground had a bon fire going in his yard. We did however check out all the other campgrounds in Asheville and this was the best that we saw. We did not hear hiway noise either as some posters have stated. We would stay here again, only because it was better than the others we looked at.
Very nice campground and the sites are fairly large for a private campground. Also, they have fire rings for a camp fire. Close to the interstate and the sites are pull through for big rigs. We'd stay again if we were in the area.
This was just an excellent campground and what a great find. It's only about 7 miles off the interstate and it's a very pretty drive out here. It is a state park and has a pool and mini golf for the kids. It has huge sites as well as fire pits. It was just a wonderful place to camp. We stayed one night but I wish we could have stayed longer. Also, there were no extra fees for entrance like you find in many states. Staff was great too! WOW!
The short term RV area was very friendly, however it is completely covered by large canopy tree's. This makes it impossible to dry out and there is no satellite signal. The Wi-Fi was very unreliable and is not free either. It is very dark there and with all the dampness there are many mosquito's. I have just 2 words for the owners "Chain Saw". Get rid of some tree's and do it today!
