Stuck here with a friend who was broken down and felt fortunate that this park was as nice as it was. Very nice and helpful owners/host. Sites are close, but held a 45' with towed while we were there. Very nice restrooms and showers. While there - go to the old Sugarite ghost town State Park, and take the north road to Capulin. Rate reflects a GS discount and is based on a weekly rate of $180.
Nice O/N stop on the LONG road to Amarillo. We've stayed here at least once a year for the past 5 and will continue to do so. They don't do the free breakfast any longer - continental breakfast cost now a whole $1, still the best deal in town. Easy in and out HDT accessible.
Nice O/N park between Amarillo and Raton, close to the Capulin Volcano, which really is a nice diversion. Very nice host/owner. The rate reflects Good Sam discount. We stayed in a Class B motorhome - not a BIG one, but plenty of room. Yep, will stay here again.
Friendly staff, nice sites, we did not make reservations but did call ahead to see if it would be necessary and if the river was out. Close to Interstate, but noise was minimal. Great overnight stop. Would stop here again. Rate was with Good Sam's discount. Restaurants within easy walk.
As an overnight spot to park, North Star cannot be beat. It's off the freeway far enough you do not get any of the noise. It's quiet, clean and a great place to stay. This was our 2nd time to stop and it was just as great as the first time.
Well maintained older park, not a "Resort" type of park, but great for the older generation. Good Rapid City and Black Hills access. We would, for sure stay here again. Managing couple very friendly and helpful.
