Nice park for overnight or a few days. Appears to be mostly seasonal; however, spots reserved near the front for casual campers. Some of the seasonal rigs look like they either came from a wrecking yard or should be sent there.
Located half way between Highways 259 and 59. Road back to the park is not the best. Park getting run down. Several trailers that looked permanent, and were in poor shape. Famous for it's spring, which was shut down, drained, and being cleaned when we were there. Herd of deer wander the park, along with Guinea Fowl, Bantam Chickens, and one big Tom Turkey. The Turkey stood outside our door at dawn and gobbled loudly until he was shooed away. Went to all of the other trailers and did the same thing. Only staff we saw was woman who checked us in and she was far from friendly.
This park looks like the ranch had some extra space and put in hookups for RV's, plus a barn for showers, laundry and kitchen. They also have a large convention center on the grounds. Legendary Oaks Golf Course is right next door and is a decent course. Park doesn't have much to offer, and we were the only ones in the park, except for three units that looked like long term, and the campground hosts. Park was clean and hosts were lonely, but friendly. Good overnighter.
Nice place. Owners are on site and extremely helpful and accommodating. There is real nice one mile nature trail alongside a canal next to the park. Also have three cabins and three B&B rooms in house. Only problem we encountered was an inability to connect to internet due to poor connection at modem outlet. Owner is considering Wi-Fi for next season. We stayed a month.
Nice clean park. Well kept up. Real nice location. The only problem with this park is their reservation system. Reserved sites are along an extremely busy road. Clerk told me that is where they put all people who make reservations. Drive-ins have their pick of vacant sights.
We were excited to visit this park from the reviews on this site. My opinion is that this place is highly overrated. Extremely small. Rigs are jammed together with absolutely no space between you and you neighbor. The spot we were supposed to occupy was so close to the road one would almost need to check for oncoming traffic before exiting your rig. This place is a dump!!!
Real nice park situated oround a large fishing pond. Several other fishing ponds on the grounds. Fishing is free for campers and a state lisence isn't required. We came for a week and stayed for 2 1/2 weeks. Park is family operated and are on site 24/7. Real nice people.
