This was a very nice state park. We only stayed one night on our way home and wished we could have stayed longer. We had a smaller site, but friends we were with had a large site with a concrete pad. Many hiking trails and within walking distance to the lake/beach. The beach was beautiful and very clean. We would stay again if in the area.
This is a great little campground. Our site was right next to the brook. The kids had a blast walking on the rocks near the brook. The site was good size, level and with just the right amount of shading. The campground has a great field as you enter which is perfect for playing a variety of sports. This was our second stay here and we look forward to staying again.
This was the last stop on our summer road trip and was by far the worst campground. The sites were small and narrow. We felt like we were crammed in like sardines. The campground is not that large and given that they have over 500 sites should paint a clear picture to everyone. People around us had small fires burning all day which left a smokey haze in the air. The beach was dirty and full of trash. My kids did not even want to swim in Lake Erie. It was not at all what I expected from a state park. I would never stay at this campground again.
This was the first park I have been to where you chose your own sites. The area we were in was little more open than I would have liked. Sort of felt like we were parked in a parking lot. The beach area is great! The kids loved swimming in the lake. Beach was very clean. The area hiking trails were also very nice. We stayed only one night on our way to Nashville. If we were in the area again, I would stay again.
This is an excellent campground!! We stayed here for three nights while we visited the Nashville area. The campground is approx. 12 miles outside of downtown Nashville. We had a large, level site with just the right amount of shade. We were across from the playground and beach area which was perfect for the kids. It was very hot while we were there and we took advantage of the lake for some evening swims before bed. If we ever travel back to this area, I would love to stay here again. One of the best campgrounds for the price we have stayed at.
We pulled in during the pouring rain past dark which made backing into our site difficult, but we made it work. We were unable to get close enough to use the sewer, even though available on the site. Great beach area. We kayaked down the Saco river with a large group of friends. We have our own bathroom, so it does not affect us, but there is only one bathhouse which meant a long walk in the middle of the night for many in our group. Overall good campground, great if you are planning to utilize the river for kayaking or canoeing. We will be back next summer.
We love this campground! This is our 5th stay at this campground. Great location for enjoying the beach and ocean. Clean pool. Great area for the kids to ride their bikes. Most recent stay was with 9 other families. We all had a blast and have already booked our sites for next summer.
