This is a very beautiful place and after staying two days, we will be making plans to return to spend a week or so with our grandchildren. The park has a fenced in dog-park where we were able to let our dog off-leash. If you want to spend some quite time in the mountains be sure to consider Mountaindale. We had no difficulty accessing the park in our 40ft Class A. The free Wi-Fi worked well, even when our Verizon hot spot didn't. The rate we paid reflects our Passport America discount.
They have very friendly staff members. The park is near an I-25 exit which makes it easy to find, but also being that close to the highway meant that the noise level was rather high. They have rather narrow pull-thru sites. All things considered I doubt if we would stay there again.
We liked the fact that this park was easy to get to off I-25. The best part of this park was the very nice dog-walking trail that went around the park. However, the sites were vary narrow and without shade. Since it was late April shade wasn't important. But in the summer this might have a negative impact. The most disappointing situation was with the young man who checked us in. When I filled out the registration I chose a pull-through site which $39 as the price. Then I saw farther down on the form that they offered discounts for Good Sam members. So I asked him what the price would be after the discount. His response was that $39 was with the discount applied. I questioned his response and he insisted he was right, so I didn't argue with him. I should also point out that he was on his cell phone the entire time.
This is a very friendly place to stay. We were there on a Friday night and when we checked in the staff invited us to take part in their weekly pot-luck and pool tournament. It was a lot of fun we can't remember when we've laughed so much. That night it was gals shooting pool against the guys...the funny part is that the guys had to shoot one handed! This is a pet friendly place. They have a fair number of rescue dogs who have found a home at Kiva. We especially liked the fact that all of their sites are pull-throughs and spacious. Even with all four of our slides out we could still park our car next to our coach side-by-side.
