Very clean, organized park. Easy to get to, easy to park. Full hookups worked great. Cable had 77 channels. WiFi worked great also. Electricity voltage and water pressure where both great the whole time we were there. Shade is minimal. Kids had great time fishing in ponds and playing with baby ducks. Lots of rules but they all seemed to make sense and keeps the park safe and organized. They will write you a ticket if you drive over 5mph- which I thought was a great idea with the little ones running around. Great location. This park is not really a destination but a great place to park while doing other things in the area. Manager was friendly and helpful. We stayed there 2 days while visiting the in-laws and shopping. Will for sure stay there again!
Very nice, family oriented park. Jumping pillow alone is reason to visit this part- everyone loves it, from the kids to adults. Overall park was clean, and while rather worn, it is taken good care of. WiFi worked great. Spots very level with easy access and good shade. Had gated entrance that stayed closed after dark. Lots of long term residents in back of park but all seem to be upscale and tucked out of site. I will stay here again.
Very beautiful park but is run down, crowded, and disorganized. Park officials seem to be helpful and answer questions but the information they give out is often wrong. Poor signage and lack of accurate information made first time visit very aggravating. Only one area is reserveable resulting in people hawking over you when you start to leave hoping to get your spot. If you find a spot and put a pop up tent on it then it is yours up to 14 days. This results in people putting up tents, paying for the space, and then it is not used for up to two weeks! It is extremely frustrating driving by all those premium spots with nobody in them! Camp hosts all seemed to be irritated for some reason and some of the host areas looked more like a scene from Sanford and Sons than a state park. Fantastic trails/scenery will bring me back to this park.
This is an excellent park! The spots are spacious, level, very private, and perfectly groomed. This is the safest feeling and cleanest park I have ever seen. The only negative thing about the park is there are no sewer hookups at the sites, but the dumping station is very easy to get through and the showers/bathrooms are so clean we didn't mind using them instead of filling our tanks up. The beach is a long walk but a very scenic one. All the trails/walks are very level so bike riding is great. Even though the park was full we saw very few people-seemed to be mostly retirees in high end RVs. Most of the time we had most of the perfect beach to ourselves! The only problem we had was the black flies- while at the beach they would occasionally swarm us and the bite so bad we would have to leave. We were told they are a seasonal thing and are not a problem most of the time. We took two small children and they had an incredible time. Be sure to take your camera down to the day use area at sunset for some awesome pictures. We will return as soon as we can even though it is an 11 hour drive for us.
Stayed here overnight on the way to Destin. Manager friendly, left envelope out for our late arrival, and arranged for a pull through big enough for us to leave our truck hooked up. Park was OK for overnight stay but smelled like sewer and seemed to have a lot of longer term residents. Lots of nice trees but place seemed a little unkempt. Roads little rough with some washouts and parking spaces were not very level. Didn't really see anything wrong but did not feel as safe as we would have liked. Park was adequate for overnight stay but would not consider staying in it any longer than overnight.
Very nice, family park. Lots of shaded spaces that are fairly level. Many of the more popular areas are a little worn and tend to get muddy easy. We stayed in Lakeview section of the park directly in front of the lake- had to put Travel Trailer into pull through spot backwards to get the door to face the lake but it was easy to do. Note some spots have slide out obstructions (trees) but the park officials have notes on which ones. Lots of trails- but beware as they are very hilly and are not marked plus many people have added their own trails and believe it or not it is easy to get lost as many of the trails are rather remote. Park staff all very friendly and helpful. Took 2 small children and they had a blast. Will definitely return.
Very nice park. Very clean, well organized and in excellent condition. We arrived during several days of rain and many of the spots were standing in several inches of water. Evidently no one minded as all spots looked full. Staff friendly and helpful. Beach covered with seaweed first day but then they groomed it and it was really nice (for a Texas beach). Lots of seashells and very few people made for very fun time for our family. Be warned of the mosquitoes; anytime the wind slows they are ferocious! All sites have tables and grills but are not covered and very few trees. It was our first RV outing and found the neighbors to be very helpful when backing in and setting up. Nearby town had free State Sea Center that the kids loved. About the only thing negative was the fact that the park is pretty much surrounded by chemical plants but they are not very noticeable while staying in the park.
