In a motorhome there is no access road to this great park that you will not hit your antenna and possibly your AC cover on low hanging branches leading into the park. You will travel at least 2 miles of roads with these low hanging branches. Once you get there it is a great facility.
Pricey, but well located in the Black Hills for varied activities.. $3 one time pet charge and $5 per day resort fee included in listed price on this site. We stayed in one of the deluxe sites and had plenty of space between sites. Very large KOA, but well run and well maintained. Want to go horse back riding...they have it. Want to go down a water slide...they have it. "Wifey" doesn't want to fix breakfast...go for the outdoor pancake breakfast or on site restaurant.
This KOA has won numerous President's Awards for good reason. It is a well managed park with outstanding amenities. The shaded sites are well laid out with plenty of room between them. The current managers are former owners of the CG and have the pride of ownership in how they maintain the park and treat their customers. In the hot summer months you will appreciate the shade - something other area CGs don't have. If you are planning your stay June - September book well in advance.
Adequate, but remote location. Stay in Mitchell if you are looking for things to do and here if you just want a good night sleep. Site 35 and others on the back row have good satellite. Way over rated by TL.
CG very suitable for big rigs - long, level, well spaced sites. CG is privately owned and run as a CG should be. Every site was full on a Memorial Day weekend, but you were never aware of it because of the sites. Kid friendly park.
I have a different take than the last reviewer. Beautifully landscaped campground with good access roads and level sites. The staff was courteous and responsive. Reserve ahead of time and request site 21 for good satellite coverage.
I reserved a site prior to arriving at the campgrounds. Campground management used the road behind my toad as an "overflow" campsite. I could not unhook my toad because a motorhome was parked directly behind it. The campground management focus is more on greed than quality.
