This is a very nice park, with hiking and biking trails, and a fishing pond in the park. 3 miles from the campground is a small lake that is part of the park. There is a nice beach and picnic area at the lake. Remittance of the old fort still stand in the park and they have daily free tours of the fort. The park and facilities are clean. We will stay there again.
This is a very big park with 6 different campgrounds: we stayed in the lower ranch camp. The spaces are about average width but we were still in our space after we opened the slide-out. Wi-Fi worked from our trailer. We did not use their showers, but we checked them out and they were clean: I would use them if I needed to without hesitation. The entire park was immaculate and the staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.
The only reason this camp doesn't get a 10 is because it is right on the interstate. Our campsite was 50 feet from the roadway. Had we been on the south end I think it would have been quieter. It is a very beautiful camp. There are many trees and much shade in the park. The bathrooms and showers are very clean. WiFi worked well. We will stay there again if we can get a site away from the interstate.
The park was very clean. There is a nice swimming pool, and a private fishing pond. No license was required. The owners were very accommodating, giving us two adjacent sites and letting us put two tents on one of them. The bathrooms and showers were clean. However, they were old, and didn't have anything to hold your shampoo and "stuff". We would stay there again.
Office staff was very helpful. Dick showed us to our site. He also gave us good info on area. Campground was clean and quiet. Bathes were clean and private. It is half way between Canon City and Colorado Springs. You can see all the sights in the area easily from there.
