This is probably the oldest of the three campgrounds (CG) operated by Jackson County and it is starting to show its age. My wife and I have tent camped here before but this was the first CG we used in our new travel trailer. The sites seem fairly level but I had some issues with a worn out 30A connector at the site post and used the 50A feed and adapter to bypass the problem. The park is fairly well laid out but there are some sites that seem a bit cramped. There is a playground for the kids but it is an older, galvanized pipe one (didn't seem to bother the kids). Sidewalks to the cramped, hot bathrooms were cracked or bowed in a few places so you had to watch your step. It's still a clean, functional facility but I'd like to see some updates or improvements to the CG before we decide to go back there again.
This is the newest and cleanest of the three campgrounds run by Jackson County. We stayed for two nights and the campground was only about half full so noise and traffic were not a factor. We initially set up at site 18 and I had to do some leveling due to a downhill slope but it wasn't a big issue. When we woke up the next morning, we had no power and the nice attendant determined something happened to our 30a feed at the post so he moved us to site 21 (a bit more room since it was on an outside curve). The rest of our stay was uneventful. The campground is clean and they have a newer playground inside the campground; there is another nicer playground about half a mile down the road too. We did hear some noise from boaters off the nearby lake but overall, we had a nice experience. The wife and I would take the family there again.
