This park is in the lower part of the Buffalo National River. It had amazing bird watching and views of the Buffalo River. We stayed in one of the reservable spots with electric and water. The park was constructed by the CCC, and the sturdy hiking trails and pavilions show that. The nearby Indian Rock House trail took us to an amazing cave. The site was level and plenty large for our travel trailer. The bathrooms were very clean and modern by National Park standards. Each site had a fire ring with grate and lantern pole. The staff were polite and helpful. The ranger patrolled every few hours while we were awake. The kids liked riding their bikes on the paved surfaces of the campground.

This was a great overnight Park that is far enough away from rundown areas of South Kansas City. It has really nice landscaping (a little pond, pretty flower pots and concrete sculptures.)I liked our concrete picnic table and patio slab. The RV's are neatly terraced. Unfortunately, the view is the interstate. It is very noisy. We turned up the AC unit to drown out the trucks. Also, there was only one bathroom/shower unit. I would have rated this lovely park higher but the outside traffic noise at times was deafening.

We were on our way to a campground in Pinedale when we passed this campground. We looked at the crowded RV park in town and booked at Highline for a few days. It looked like an oasis surrounded by mountains in the sagebrush; there are llamas in the field around the park. There were no mosquitoes as another review warned (they had recently sprayed.) What a great view. We enjoyed super sunsets. Our travel trailer was lost in the very large pull through sites. The grassy area was great for playing ball and frisbee. We met a really nice grounds keeper who turned out to be the owner. What a nice guy. Pinedale is awesome. There's National Forests, visitor center, great indoor water park, beer brewery, and library. Shhhh...don't tell anyone because we want to go back next summer.

Close to highway and a good overnight spot. I don't know how the tent campers survived the highway noise. It had a nice playground for the kids to romp around. There are also many conveniences nearby like Wal-Mart and DQ. I can't remember when I've seen so many dogs; I think every RV had a dog (many hunting dogs to pet.) It's very close to the Cabela's flag ship store which is definitely worth a stopover if you are an outdoor enthusiast (they have a great bargain cave).

We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed reasonably priced BBQ Buffalo Burgers grilled on site. The grounds were nice and despite being by a highway interchange it was fairly quiet with nice trees, grass, and landscaping. Then, it went horribly wrong. There was a youth rollerskating tournament that overtook the campground. I counted over 30 kids in the pool! The bathrooms were very dirty because of overuse. Then, a group of 14-16 took over one the site across from us. Campground workers walked by and didn't enforce the rowdy group. A tent camper walked over and used our picnic table for a while. Our RV neighbors were equally appalled. We closed our curtains and turned up the AC unit. I think this should be called camp-keep-away during busy weekends. This was a bad way to start our trip. We camped in a travel trailer.
