Our site was level and easy to get into. The dump station is a bit tricky. It wasn't to busy so we just drove around until we made it work. We saw lots of deer during our 2 night stay. The campground is clean and well kept. My boyfriend used the showers and said, " They were a bit worn and small." The playground had a couple of swings and a slide, other than that, the kids can bring bikes, the area is nice and level for riding. The Gristmill is working and very interesting.
This campground is pristine. The property it sits on is huge. The pool is not walking distance but it's quite big and kept in excellent condition. Our campsite was a pull-through with the electric on the other side, but we had plenty of cord in our camper. I could access the internet with my telephone from my site. We noticed on some sites you can set up DirecTV. If you need a pet sitter, there is an excellent one very close to the campground.
Check in went smooth, although we had the trailer in the way. As you enter, pull through those stop signs and go around the mini golf. We stayed for Spring Special so we camped 4 weekends. Well worth the money and we left the trailer on site. Weather ended up to be great. Our site was pretty level with gravel and grass. The hookup were easy to use and well kept. We had water, electric, cable TV and gray-water hook-up. The site was by the frog pond so in a Hybrid is wasn't ideal. If you pick a sites in the upper 100's they are located down hill. Bikes are not allowed down the hills. The top area of the campground is flat and ideal for small children riding bikes. Playground is small and well maintained. Pool looks adequate but I didn't swim in it. They have tennis, horseshoes, a wooden wall the kids were hitting balls at, a game room with pool tables, ping pong, arcade type games. They also have basketball and a large field for playing games. The showers (pay), bathroom and laundry clean as a whistle. If you want WI-Fi it's by the office or you can boost with a Pepwave on the top sites. It's free at the moment. I went to Mother's Day Wine and cheese, it was very well done. Easter weekend was ham potluck: lots of people attended and again a nice gathering, tables set and very welcoming. This campground is located near Devil's Hopyard State Park, this was a nice 1/2 trip to take a hike and go exploring. You are also not far from the shore.
We booked two nights in new Western Deluxe Kottages. Casey checked us in and he was pleasant and friendly. He gave us a map and explained directions to our cabin. The store is set up with an internet area, assorted groceries, and local vendor crafts. The cabins are set on a hill with some of them having easier access to unload your car than others. Some of the cabins are very close together so if your sitting at your fireplace and the other people want to sleep your you can hear those people talking as if they were in your bedroom. For some privacy I would pick H29, H35. H4-H8 are set up on a hill very close together. We drove around the whole campground and like others said, not to many trees. The back row closest to the pet area had the most. The sites looked level and they were gravel. The cabin came with a refrigerator, no microwave, no TV but it looked like it had cable hook up. Their was plenty of electrical outlets. We brought the coffee maker. It does come with an outside grill, I would bring tin foil and my own propane if I was going to use it. We ate at the restaurant and the waitresses were friendly and attentive. The food was good and very reasonable. Overall a very nice campground.
This was a very clean campground. Love the asphalt pads. The water, electric, cable, and sewer, all convenient to the site. This is a small campground and nice and flat. It would be great for small children riding bikes. It has a small playground area and a stream. Nice and quiet.
My boyfriend and I wanted to get in one last night of camping before wrapping it up for the season. We arrived early and were greeted kindly. Since it was off season and no one was on our site the desk clerk let us check in early. The site was tight, but there was enough room for the 19'10 hybrid trailer, TV and the picnic table. The site had new gravel. I saw the playground, and it looked new and well kept. This campground has some cabins that appear to be recently built. We used the dump station by the office, and with such a small trailer we didn't have any problems. At this time of the year I didn't see any hanging branches. I did see a huge motorhome towing a matching enclosed trailer parked along the back row, and no branches were touching it. We did use the cable which came in great. I'm not sure if I would like this campground in the summer with the sites so close, but I would definitely camp here again.
We arrived on Friday right at 1pm check-in, and our site was available. The gentlemen in the office were friendly and quickly handed us our weekend package which included clear directions to our site. We had a large site with sewer hookups. Once we set up we didn't spend too much time at the campground. We did notice that the speed limit is 10 MPH. This campground is full of children on bikes and golf carts flying around. We noticed kids using the pool and slide and many enjoying the skate park. Quiet time at the campground starts at 11pm. Well it seems the people hired to run security were the people partying this evening. They were loud and obnoxious using foul language until 3:30 am. This only happened on Friday night, by Sat and Sun the campground was nice and quiet. It's to bad that one bad apple can leave a funny taste in your mouth, it's really a nice campground for kids and families.
I camped at Strawberry Park many weekends throughout this season. We had different spots up by the pool and recreation hall. They don't provide escort service. The sites are very close together. Since this campgrounds has many sites not near the recreation hall and pools some people might find it a long walk. They do rent out golf carts. The dog area is a nice feature even though you have to put you dog in the car to get him there. This is a great campground for someone looking for lots of activities for the kids. My son 16 loved the dances, nice basketball court, and softball. Halloween weekend was great, with lots of people who decorated, lots of kids for trick or treating. Bingo always seems to be packed. Ice cream and food all reasonable and good. Lobster dinner weekend was good, the food was well cooked and worth the money. Nice Country Music that weekend. In the summer the pools are spotless. They even kept one pool open and the adult hot tub during this warm spell. The staff is all friendly and very helpful. This is a very active resort type campground.
I arrived to find friendly staff at check in. She gave me a map and pointed me in the right direction. You get a gate card and if you loose it you pay $50. My site was almost level with the hookup easy to use. New electrical boxes have been recently installed. I wasn't to far from the pool. I didn't use it but plenty of people seem to be having fun. It was a rainy weekend but on Sunday the boys walked down to the lake for some fishing. Not much biting that weekend. The lake has a short floating dock and a small boat entrance for canoe rentals.Overall a nice campground with friendly staff.
I checked in and was escorted to my site. The young man was kind and made sure I was happy with my set up. You do need an extention cord for your electrical. I had enough hose (50') for water, and the gray was closer. The sites are mostly level on gravel and grass. The pool was small but clean, the kids were having a great time. I walked over to the goats and the kids were feeding them some grass. The basketball court is out in the sun and I only saw a couple kids throwing the ball around. Overall a very nice campground.
We only stayed here for the weekend. Most of the sites are set up in rows with campers pretty close together. We drove through the campground and noticed an area with more trees in the back, mostly for tenting and small hybrid trailers. The office was clean, neat and well stocked. The staff was friendly and helpful. They rent some bikes that look like a lot of fun. The kids were having a great time. Koa has just recently taken over this campground and they have built some nice cabins. We didn't notice a lot of extra activities going on. I would definitely try this campground again.
