We booked this campground while evacuating from Hurricane Gustav; and was pleasantly surprised and overjoyed at our camping stay here. The staff was fantastic; friendly and easy to get along with. The free laundry was a wonderful surprise and a very clean spot. The wifi wasn’t working well while we were camping here; when it was functional, it operated at a very slow crawl. The sites were clean and level; mostly pull through therefore easy to access. Our site had more than enough space for our party, 3 adults, 3 children, and 2 dogs. If we ever make it back to Memphis, we will plan to camp here again.
We booked this campground while evacuating from Hurricane Gustav; and was pleasantly surprised and overjoyed at our camping stay here. The staff was fantastic; friendly and easy to get along with. The campground has a restaurant with a large screen tv; the staff allowed us to track the storm via tv whenever we needed. I gave the campground a 9 rather than a 10 because the laundry room was dirty; however the machines worked well. Some campers are residents of the park, but you would never know it. We will definitely camp here again. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the extra 10 miles or so.
We heard bad things about this campground and decided to attend due to snow weekend. We had a great time in the snow and might attend for this weekend again; however will try not to come back for anything other than the snow. Our sites were not the greatest, and it looks like a trailer park. Most of the campers are regulars, and if you don't camp there regularly, you don't fit in. I got the feeling that this park welcomed the drinkers and party animals.
This is a beautiful campground...many sites have been re-worked. We had a great time riding the bikes around the park and playing at the campground. The beach/boardwalk is beautiful and we plan to re-visit this park and take advantage of this (it rained for 1/2 our trip). We will return soon.
We camped here Easter weekend. There were so many things planned, we couldn't make them all. The kids had a blast!! We will return. Just a few points...there is an ATV field; for 35.00 per 4-wheeler you can ride in the park and at the field. Things get a bit dusty, but that is the nature of the beast. You can ride horses for $30 a person; great ride to take every so often. Our $44 nightly rate was a holiday rate; a bit pricy but we had a blast.
We camped here for Easter weekend…and paid a holiday rate (we paid 34 and regular rate is 30). The owners/management of the campground are VERY nice and accommodating. I expected some more activities for a holiday weekend; there was a hayride, Easter gift bags for the kids, and a band on Saturday night. We were able to get a campsite right by the playground, so our children had a great time and we were able to keep a close eye on them. We visited the Global Wildlife Park while camping here…and that was a nice 2-3 hour activity. Some sites here are permanent sites; however there are many sites available for reservation. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the 2 mile rock road to get to the park…it made our truck and camper quite dusty. We would visit this park again, maybe in the summer so our family can play in the clear, sandy bottom river.
Our children had a good time here on the sandy beach, riding their bikes around the campground, and playing in the big playground. The campground is right off the highway and not as secluded as I would like, but we had a nice time here. This campground is a great place to camp for the weekend; the campground is close to home and a fun place for the kids to enjoy. I would rather they have more shaded campsites, however know that will come in time.
This campground is beautiful. We spent 4 nights here and would definitely come back. I enjoyed our site very much, and the bathrooms were in new/clean condition. The people who ran the campground and who camped at the campground were very nice. We spent a lot of time playing in and out of the trails with the children.
Beautiful campground, fun times. We did not use the pool (end of November), however did enjoy the playground, nature trails, and quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The campground doesn't offer many activities, however I would camp here again.
We camped here for a holiday weekend, Witchin Weekend (Halloween). We enjoyed our camp site and the planned activities. We were caught in lots of rain this weekend and found out that there are low, flooding areas in the campground. Our family felt that this campground was a little too expensive for this weekend, as you are also required to pay a fee for other activities you participate in; however this fee is a holiday rate. At a lower rate, we would camp here again.
We spent Labor Day weekend at Silver Creek Campground and had a nice time. My husband enjoyed the Labor Day Dove Hunt very much. We do not have an ATV and did not use that part of the campground; and almost felt a little left out as we were a part of the minority. I'll definitely camp here again should I ever purchase an ATV. This was my family's first camping trip, and we were a little overwhelmed by all the ATV's. The campground was very clean, and the pool was quite nice. As I understand it, this is a new campground. I would have enjoyed a few more trees.
