We found this site after looking for the top 20 most beautiful RV sites in America. Mountaindale was in fact beautiful with deer and fawn roaming around daily. The sight of the herd of bucks was incredible and we got lots of video footage of deer that said good night each night. Our site was a pull through site with cable TV available. However, we did not bring a cable and the owner was quick to loan us one. He was by far the most friendly and helpful owner I've met and this world would be a happy place if all could imitate his customer service abilities. We were impressed to see him up late at night guiding new coming campers who arrived after dark to ensure they got into their campsites safely. (Who does that? Mountaindale management does!) We had our dogs with us and Mountaindale offers potty bags for their customers as well as a little play yard to let your pets run free. My husband and I enjoyed the hot tub during our stay and utilized the washer and dryers. The facility was super clean and convenient. On Saturday night, the campground hosted an Ice Cream social with a variety of delicious flavors. With all the great things offered, I hate to even complain, but I feel is important to know. Some of the available campsites sit along a road that seems deserted enough until first thing in the morning comes along, and truck, after truck, after truck travels the road to haul rock. It's a non stop deal 7 days a week, with a little break on Sunday. I felt it was a distraction to the peace and quiet in the mornings. But, the noise would be less if we had been farther back in the campground. I personally could not stay connected to the Wi-Fi and would rather it not be available than struggle to hold a connection. But, I was one of the rare visitors who didn't have a problem using my cell phone to make calls. This campground is well kept and very beautiful, but I want to escape all evidence of being in the city when I am camping and the trucks deemed a disappointment to my R&R.

We had just bought a brand new camper and wanted to take it out for it's test run during Memorial weekend. The lakes were all full and someone sent us to Rutlader's Outpost. I'll never forget when we pulled up and saw a caravan of Big RV's, we pretty much knew we were at an RV park that seemed to be set up for the retired travelers. All the same, we were excited to find a place to camp. Depending on what one is looking for, this RV park was in fact, a very peaceful place to stay. And, that is what I was looking for. Unfortunately, there isn't a single tree to shade any campers, no matter what site you're on. The owners were very friendly to help assist, knowing we were new to the camper world; and all the campers here seemed super nice as well. The little town of Louisburg wasn't a far drive to get the things we had forgotten on this trip. I personally would stay here again because it was so peaceful, and I did not want to be near the weekend party folks. They offered Saturday night country concert for $12 per person. I thought that was quite high and wondered how many people actually paid that price for campground entertainment. All the same, I thought it was nice they would provide a little something for their guests. Just thought the price was a little steep for that amenity.
