We have stayed at quite a few CG's in SW Florida, but find Seminole to be a refreshing and somewhat unique place. Approx 90% of the sites are beautifully shaded by magnificent Florida Oak trees that have been nicely groomed to allow RV clearance. You get the "old Florida" feel, nestled among the oaks, palms and other natural flora. We find this a treat in contrast to most parks which are wide open barren pads. The (recently new) owner is doing a professional job making this a 1st class place to stay and unwind. Long pull thru and back in sites easily accommodate larger rigs and provide extra space for the toad, etc. The electric pedestals are new, the water and plumbing all look new and the lighting at night is especially well done. The pool, restrooms and laundry facilities are clean and in excellent shape. There is a game room and recreation hall. Also, there is a large area in the back of the CG to walk the dogs and let them run. The staff was overly helpful and very accommodating. We enjoyed our 1st stay so much, we returned 2 weeks later for another 3 nights. I expect this CG will be very busy once the word gets out. It would make an excellent location for a rally (off season), given it's layout, amenities and proximity to SW Florida attractions. We'll be visiting again soon.

It has been quite a while since we stayed at any KOA's as our impression is that many are not what they used to be. Sad to say, this park lived up to that lack of expectation and was an overall disappointment. Most of the sites (that even have pads) are broken concrete slabs that need replacement or too short to accommodate our 40' Class A. The counter staff was not friendly at all, nor accommodating. The assistants driving the golf carts were the exception, and were pleasant, friendly and helpful. KOA did not accept Passport America discount, despite being listed in current PA website and considering the park was less than 50% full. We paid $38 plus a $3.00 resort fee (they should rename that, as this is far from a "resort") and were told this was the off-rate price. The campground has a few small ponds, but is NOT on the water, nor is it near any beaches or other significant attractions. The "designated dog walking area" is a non-dedicated, non-fenced area, more correctly defined as the side of the main road. No plans to return to this campground anytime soon, if ever.

Nice park under new ownership. Owners are very friendly and accommodating. A bit hard to find as our GPS did not get us there. I would STRONGLY suggest calling for directions. The campground appears to be part of the "Moore Haven Recreational Area" is on the rim canal for Lake Okeechobee. No views of lake per-se, but nice canal views and good breeze during our stay (which helps keeps the bugs away - it is a buggy area). The approach to the campground was a bit intimidating as you pass the local prison, then a very poor and run down section of road about 1/4 in length, just before you get to the campground. We were beginning to have second thoughts about continuing on as the neighborhood went down hill fast. HOWEVER, once we got through this section and into the campground, we were very comfortable. There is (at least while we were there) a sheriff who resides in the campground. They don't appear to have any problems and it was a very peaceful quite place. We plan to go back to Okeechobee Waterway RV Resort again in the future. Best of luck to the new owners on their continued running of the campground and attracting new campers.
