If you want concrete pads and manicured landscaping, this is not the place for you. It's a quirky, friendly campground in a beautiful setting among grass and huge old trees; there are even elk wandering through on many evenings. Lots of great hiking in the area and lovely drives to Mt St Helens and Mt Rainier. Excellent free Wi-Fi available from 9am to 9pm at the local library just steps away. Sit outside to use it when the library is closed! Only one block from the highway but minimal traffic noise. Contractors primarily on a separate access road so no disturbance from early truck traffic. Easy access for any size rig: ours is a 42 ft motorhome.

On check in, we were charged $44 (including tax). Then the owner came in and said we should have been charged $50 a night because of our size and weight and we could only stay in a gravel back in site not on his grass. We later noticed the entry sign that stated $35. Since we had already paid we stayed in the park but felt we had been fleeced over the price. Neighbors complained about the "Nazi" management when told they would have to pay half a night's fee for staying an hour after check in. The park was not full. Other than the ridiculous pricing it's an OK park. We had a spacious back in that easily accommodated our 42' motorhome and car.

Rate is for one night, taxes included. Weekly and monthly rates are available. This is the only campground we keep coming back to. We are now here for the season. Everyone is friendly and there are far more activities available than there is time to join in, including lots of wonderful pot luck meals. Monday morning information meetings are a hoot! We love being able to walk straight from our rig out into the desert with many miles of trails. If you like the desert this is an ideal location. There's plenty of room for the largest rigs.
