If you are a seasonal and you like NASCAR and you like loud music played at all hours, this is your place! We were there over a 4th of July weekend so I have to make some allowances for it but the prices were high, the pool was dirty and a seasonal next to me was cutting wood and building a deck all week. As a non-seasonal we were given a lousy site that was the shortcut to the package store behind the campground. The managers were not accommodating and were not terribly concerned about the non-seasonals. Seemed that we would have gotten more interest if we were there for the season. The location is great and we launched our canoe several times from their dock but next time I'll go to the State Park Campground on the lake.
Very nice state park campground. Mostly shaded sites. Well maintained. Small and doesn't take reservations but there always seemed to be some sites available. Very convenient to I-84 and historic Rt 30.
Great campground. Full hookups and reasonably priced. Lots of shade. Sites are almost all in the woods but it's not overgrown. The ocean is a short walk under Rt 101. Great ranger programs - kids really liked the tour of tide pools at low tide. Ranger talks most days and nights. Close to Newport for shopping and restaurants.
This is a very clean, very developed campground. Mostly pavement with little grass. However, you don't really mind too much because it is in an urban setting. The sites are small, but, again, it's an urban setting. Although small, the pull throughs are quite manageable. Very close to Disneyland and Angels Stadium. Easy highway access. There is a fenced in dog area that you can allow them off the leash to run, play and do their business. Orange trees everywhere and you are encouraged to pick and keep the oranges! Wifi available for a fee, (I think, for these prices, it should be free). If we were in town we would stay here again.
If this park were somewhere else I would rate it lower because of the size of the sites. Yes, it is essentially a parking lot, however, this is the best located campground for easy access to San Francisco and real estate is not cheap here so I give them some slack as far as space is concerned. Ocean front sites sit right over the ocean (watch that first step, though, it's a 100 foot drop to the beach below). Fog sometimes hampers the views but you can still hear the ocean at your site. Not happy about having to pay for WiFi, considering I'm already paying $60 a night. The restrooms and grounds were very clean and well maintained. If I were going to SF again, I would definitely stay here.
Great campground. Grounds and bathrooms were immaculate. Free Wi-Fi. Convenient for day trips to Zion, Bryce, North Rim. Also, Animal Friends Rescue Ranch is in Kanab. Volunteered there for a day. Kanab is a great little town. Very friendly people. I could retire here!
