My family and I really enjoyed staying here. The pool was very nice. The bathrooms were clean. The laundry room had four washers and dryers and it was never closed. The campground is right outside the entrace to St. Andrews which has an awesome kiddie swimming area at the jetties. Easy walk to the beach and well lit after dark. The price averaged what the other campground were priced, if you added all the conviences that this Resort included in their price (except cable TV and WiFi). We will be back.
The kids(12 & 10) pick this campground for our Memorial Day Weekend trip and they really enjoyed it. Many activities for the kids and they did not cancel the activities due to weather. Kids loved the pool even though in my opinion it was too cool. They also loved the playgrounds. It was a very rainy weekend. We ended up leaving the night before we were supposed to due to the weather. My husband just couldn't stand sitting in the camper no longer. The sites are small. The picnic table was only a couple feet from someone's septic line (gross). The park is made up of an inner circle of campers and down the hill is the outer circle. We were on the outer circle and I was able to pick up a little signal from the WiFi at times. There is one man and woman bathroom/showers for the whole cg. Make sure you pay for the DirecTV if you do not have your own cause we were unable to pick up any channels through antenna. There is not really anything to do within a 40 min drive besides an indoor flea market (back toward Carrollton). Kids thought it was neat because they had never been to one before. If there not had not been so much rain we (husband and I) probably would have enjoyed it a lot more. We will probably return just for the kids for a quick weekend trip.
We stayed in the new section. My kids loved the new pool and playground. Did not use bathhouse. Our campgroup used the Activities Building and it was nice. There is no shade in the new section could get really hot in summer months. The game room has a wii which is five dollars per child for one hour. Kids said they did not have a lot of games to choose from. The store has a few things but not a whole lot. Nice campground but will be a lot better when the freshly planted trees grow some. We were able to receive a cheaper rate because we were with a group of 40 campers.
We had a blast at this campground. We were there Memorial Day weekend and the they had a lot of activities for the kids to do. My kids met so many friends that they didn't want to leave. They really enjoyed the swimming pool. The bathroom was very clean. My only word of advice is to please bring a Isolated fan to put under your awning to keep away the gnats.
We were at site 77 and it has a very nice patio deck in front on the camper area over looking a hillside. There was no one to the left of us but the camper behind was somewhat close but it was no problem at all. The bathhouses was very clean. The office has wifi but you have to have your own computer. If you like Mexican there is a very good restaurant less than a mile if you take a left out of the park. There is also Fresh air bbq heading back toward Jackson. It's rated the best bbq in Georgia. The Nature trails were a mile from the park and were nice if you like animals. We will be going back in the summer time.
Very Nice Campgrounds. Almost every site has water frontage. The only thing I didn't like was there is only one playground for this huge park and is to far away from most of the sites and the road is a little to busy for small kids to ride their bikes to and that is why I only gave them a 8. Please don't forget the kids bikes and if your kids are going to play in the water please make them wear there life jackets. My kids fuss with me about it but you can sometimes walk 100 feet before getting over your head and then sometimes it is only 5 feet. Also remember to bring your ant spray in summer months. The bath houses are clean and have a lot of pressure and warm water but could use some cosmetic updating.
Whitetail is very nice and quiet.. Very spacious.. If you go in the summer months please bring something for ants. We had treated the ground w/ powder ant stuff but did not bring any spray and they were entering the camper thru the roof area.. I guess they were falling out of the trees. Don't get me wrong w/ love the campgrounds but I guess the ant thing is due to the lack of rain..
Very laid back campground. Almost all sites are waterfront. Bathhouse was very clean and also has washer and dryer. You can pull your boats up to a majority of the sites. We did experience ants but it could have been the time of year.. It does have a playground for kids. It also has 3 double-unit campsites. Please don't forget the kids bikes and if you have a boat it would be a bonus.
GREAT campsite.. My kids loved and my husband and I loved it.. Very peaceful. Didn't notice potholes as mentioned in an earlier post so maybe they fixed them. The kids loved the putt-putt. Paid $3 per child for the entire visit. Park ranger rode thru almost every hour. The showers do have a tendency to go hot/cold on you and when it is already cold outside it didn't feel good but that happens.. Do not depend on the general store for many supplies.. They had candybars and and a few snack and to my kids disappointment no ice cream freezer. There was a few things like garbage bags (that was a generic brand and they wanted almost 5 dollars for under 20 count) Anyhow the store is the only thing that really disappointed us but we got over it quickly.. If you stay here you really need to check out Westville and the Providence Canyon(little grand canyon). But please make sure in good health if you try to go to the bottom of the canyon.
