This park has exceptionally tight sites. We were unable to open awnings completely. Our site was right next to I-95, bring earplugs. The park borders an undesirable part of town and is actually in Oakland Park, not Ft. Lauderdale.

Be prepared to pay extra for cable TV ($3 a day) and for 50 amp ($2 a day) service! The wireless internet is a pain to use. You get 1-hour access numbers. If you log in at 9:00 a.m. for 15 minutes and again at 6:00 p.m., you need 2 coupons. If you don't have any coupons and the office is closed, you're sunk. The campground is really dusty, as most of the roads are gravel and/or dirt. Towed vehicles will need a bath after entering and leaving here. We travel with our pets, so shade is important. There's precious little here.

I'd have given Walnut Hills a "10" but their wireless internet needs work. This campground is a short drive off of I-81 and, while you do hear just a bit of road noise, the campground is just lovely. It is one of the prettiest "natural" campgrounds we've stayed in. Not lots of landscaping, but just a truly pretty site. The managers/owners are pleasant people who love to laugh. You just know they love being there.

Despite my confirming our reservation prior to traveling, the folks here couldn't find it when we arrived. The sites are very tight, especially if you have slide outs. There are few pull through spots. The site they eventually assigned us backed us in until we literally overlooked the interstate and was not large enough for our 3-slide 41.5' motorhome and the car we tow. The traffic noise was nonstop and very loud. They could use some good antennas for their wireless internet, as their signal wasn't strong enough to connect to. This campground is an adequate "staging area" if you plan on sight-seeing in the Asheville area. It is not a pretty or relaxing spot.
