Nice quiet campground, friendly staff, clean facilities. There is a free trolley that passes every 20 min that will take you to town. Nice shade on campground in the evening. The road into the CG is a little steep but no problem. Rated it an 8 because the sites were a little tight and the restrooms could have been a little larger, considering the size of the tent campground. I would stay here again.
It is a nice campground, with friendly staff. It features very clean facilities. I rated it an 8 because the roads and sites are a little tight when campground is full, which it always seems to be. Call ahead for reservations. There is easy access off I-20. I would stay here again if I were in the area.
It is very pricey for not having restroom facilities. Passport America was not honored because there were already to many PA customers in park. They all looked seasonal to me. The host was not extremely friendly. She helped us back up and started getting snippy and making faces because we couldn't put our camper in the exact spot she wanted. If she would have driven us to the spot in the right direction it would have been a lot easier. We would definitely prefer the other parks over this one south of town. We would not stay here again.
Price reflects weekly rate. Very nice and well maintained. Clean facilities, friendly staff. Only rated it a 9 because the sites required leveling because of wash off. Located 1/2 mi from Mesa Verde NP. Would stay here again.
Price reflects Passport America. Great campground, friendly staff; extremely clean facilities. Laundry prices very reasonable. Very large sites, could keep toad attached. Rated it a 9 only because it didn't have cable TV; poor antenna reception and side by side utilities. Would definitely stay here again.
The price reflects Passport America rate. One of the nicest RV parks I ever stayed in. There is easy access from I-20 and gas right down the road. Large cement sites with a patio. They are spaced a good distance apart. The only downfall, it was hot. I can't hold that against the park's rating. The staff was extremely friendly; they have free laundry which is a plus. They asked that we pass the word. They offer a BBQ dinner in the evening, which I didn't eat so I can't comment on. I would definitely stay here again, in cooler weather.
Nice little park, owners extremely friendly. Facilities and park well maintained. Only reason not rated 10, sites were a little close and the sites on the river aren't set up for 5th wheels. Utilities are located in the front so motorhomes can pull in forward. I would definitely stay here again. Beware, call owner for directions, it is real easy to miss and you don't want to miss this one.
Nice, well kept campground. I lowerd my rating because of the roads. They were good roads but much too narrow with large drop offs and posts along the sides. It made it extremely difficult for large rigs to access most of the sites. There were some sites located on a 2-way road which was much better, you could back in without going off the road. We went after a rain so there was lots of water and bugs. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay. Sites near water each had their own little pier for fishing or docking a boat. We stayed in a 35 ft 5th wheel. I would return in cooler months, only because of bugs.
Of all the LA State Parks, this has to be the worse. It is rundown; the sites are un-level and several are severely sloped. On week-ends the park is congested. Local families gather at campsites, 3 and 4 vehicles per site are parked everywhere (no overflow parking); in some cases 10-20 people per site, 65% of campers also have boats and trailers which are parked along the roadway making it difficult for large rigs to maneuver. Only one dumpsite per 100 sites, so the exodus on Sunday was time consuming. Campground was filthy after everyone left. Roads are not marked well in campground loop and the staff is not knowledgeable. Cycling is dangerous on roads throughout the park because of traffic and drivers don't adhere to speed limit. I would only stay here in the off-season during the week in an emergency, otherwise I don't plan to return, definitely avoid week-ends at all costs.
This campground is not well maintained. The sites and roadways are a bit tight making access with large rigs difficult. The trees were at just the right height to cause issues with slides. With slides on both sides of the camper, you will take up the whole pad. The cable barely worked. I wouldn't stay here for any length of time, but it was the only campground in the area of the casinos. I will plan my trips in cooler weather and take advantage of boondocking at the casino. I stayed in a 35 ft fifth wheel and wouldn't recommend anything much larger.
Lots of hiking trails, but it was too hot to hike. The sites are narrow, but there are quite a few on the lake. The lakeside sites have been built up to make pretty level, but the dirt is washing away leaving the pad exposed. This leaves a big drop off on some sites. To accomadate our slides we had to park closer to the passenger side of the pad. This caused our steps to hang off the pad. I only gave this park a rating of 7 because the roads and the sites are in need of work. One of the roads had a very soft shoulder where there was a drop off and there wasn't a warning. The campground and activities were typical of state parks. I would definitely stay here again in cooler weather.
Write up in the Passport America book is totally incorrect. There is no store, laundry, cable or internet. There is no way there are 140 sites. The campground is for sale, so nothing is coming soon. The Wal-Mart is over 15 miles away. The prices were the same as other campgrounds that had all these facilities. Half the sites the electricity didn't work, the sites were not numbered, so you were told to park anywhere. The pull-thrus were mostly for 2 rigs, so you still had to back in. I had to change sites because the electric tripped and there was no way to fix it. I was here in a 35 ft fifth wheel, and I would never stay here again.
