Close enough to hear Hwy 80 all day and night. Beautiful scenery. Sites close together especially in section H the OHV area. Three times after having made reservations months in advance for optimal sites, upon arriving, I was given a different-less desirable site. (Told by staff they had mistakenly already reserved site to someone else. Turns out they bumped me for other campers staying longer never informing me prior to my arrival.) Great jeep trail right at campground that goes up to lovely lakes. Nice little store with basic items on site. Gas across overpass on I-80. Campfires must be off ground ie: in BBQ or bring your washer drum. Great jump off spot for outdoor activities. All in all, I enjoy this spot.
Have stayed here several times. Some sites right on river but very close together. River is lovely. VERY noisy when crowded with lots of OHVs running around campground at all hours~Seems as if some parents just let the kids drive OHVs in circles around campground constantly.Mud Hole in rain. Bath rundown! Small store nearby. Town of Washington is rather junky attracting Bikers. Very long steep drive into campground. No enforcement to pick up dog waste (YUCK!). Owners on site~very chill. Would be better with a few rules.
One of the few campgrounds in Calif. located on a beach. Surf is dangerous here not safe to go into (my father saw a swimmer drown here during his stay). Tight sites. Dry camping. I know the beach is lovely but not my favorite place to camp. Must have reservations to camp on beach but some overflow spots may be available on any given day. Close to Bodega Bay.
Breathtaking, beautiful park with large sites nestled in Giant Redwoods and Ferns. Dry camping. Clean coin shower. Dump station. If you have not camped here you should! You will need reservation. Park is on cliffs above beach. Many very private sites. Not too far from Trinidad.. Hiking trails above and down to beach paved roads for biking. Not far from lovely Trinidad, Redwoods, Roosevelt Elk herds & an Indian Casino.
This park gets points from me for location: practically right on river and beach. Not much landscaping here and it is located adjacent to small airport with occasional take offs/landings overhead. Clean & tidy park. Gets 'very' windy at times. Fog horn running during our entire stay just added ambiance. Close to cafes, shops and town. Really enjoyed my stay here. One drawback was the many stickers my dogs got in their fur on walks - quite the hassle to remove.
Great park on Clearlake with nice launch/dock. Swimming pool available at Hotel. Funky little casino with 1 cafe. Very clean park with full hookups directly adjacent to Casino. All staff at park, store, casino, cafe all friendly. Gets hot during summer in Lakeport. Park located on the Rancheria. Some signs of poverty seen in homes on Rancheria but hey, you are helping out the tribe by visiting them. Have stayed here multiple times and always enjoy myself.
I wanted to stay here after visiting website and reading some reviews. I was let down with atmosphere-part of park is a mobile home park. It is a long walk down a 2 lane road with small shoulder to get to Columbia SP. It is better to drive there. There are very tight area with narrow sites. The dog walk is tiny and on the main road (so small, it smells of dog waste so I wouldn't use it-instead I walked my dogs on the main road). The nice friendly staff was a plus.
Lawson's Landing has a very Bohemian fee land has been the same for decades. Camping sites are first-come first-serve. Water front sites are actually on hard pack dirt area along N shore of Tomales Bay near mouth to ocean. People often bring stakes and caution tape to mark off their camp area (great idea on weekends). Small bait store with ice, beer and a few items on campgrounds. Dump station on site. No BR (outhouses on site) or showers. Some scattered water spigots. Cow's graze campground so expect cow patties. Dock to fish off of. Boat launch in sand (dangerous entrance to ocean though). Nice Cafe/small store located close by. Campsites behind very large dunes go first. Campground in danger of being shut down by local environmentalist.
I'd give it a 10 but the surrounding properties are run down. I love the Feather Falls casino and I win here. You get $10/day free slot play and $5/day buffet discounts with stay. Buffet is small it will do. Shuttle will pick you up at your RV or a quick walk across parking lot gets you right to casino. The park is so clean and charming. Great staff. Great showers!!! Darling store on site. Gas right on corner near Casino property. Another casino located minutes away in Oroville. Oroville itself doesn't have much draw but a drive up to Table Rock or Hwy 70 are both beautiful and worth the drive. Lake Oroville is very close by. Wonderful getaway park.
Great location, friendly staff, nice little store and withing walking distance to Columbia State Park that has stores, gold panning, stagecoach rides, restaurants, bars, groceries etc. Close to Sonora. Sites close and on dirt but with full hookups. Busy park during holidays even in winter. Have camped here many times and will be back. Lots to do nearby.
