We were pleased with this campground. The bathrooms were very nice and the showers were very clean. The water pressure in the shower was very low though. We did use the pool, it was OK. The jumping pillow was fun for my kids. If you are going to the beach, it is well worth the $2.00 pp for the bus pass to take you there. You can buy the pass right in the campground store. The campground store had the basics. The staff was always very nice to us. The sites were large and fairly level. We had site #352 which was a back-in site. It was backed right up to the main road for the entrance to the campground. It wasn't too bad, but the street lights were annoying at night. The noise of the aircraft wasn't too bad either. We felt very patriotic watching and hearing the aircraft in training. I think that the campground is a bit overpriced, but would probably stay here again if we ever come to Virginia Beach again.
We were very pleased with this campground. The owners were very pleasant to talk to, and they were very accommodating. They are truly a dog friendly campground. We have two german shepards. One is extremely large and intimidating to look at, but he is very well behaved. The owners took the time to get to know him and fell in love with him. The campground also sells discount tickets to Bushkill Falls, which is dog friendly too. The sites are very nice. We were in site E3 which was a tight fit for our 34' 5th wheel, but it did work. We would definitely camp here again.
We stayed here for an overnight on our way to Ohio. Easy access off of route 80 to route 79. This was a very nice, clean campground. They had a nice pancake breakfast too. Our site was all the way in the back of the campground which made it a little difficult to pull our 35' fifth wheel through the campground. There were some trees and bushes scraping the sides of our camper as we were trying to get to our site. The staff were very nice and helpful.
Had a wonderful time here at the campground. The grounds were always clean and well manicured. Our site was level and easy to get into. The camp store was well equipped, a little pricy, but worth it if you forget something. The shuttles were great. Most of the drivers were pleasant to talk to and were knowledgeable about the park. If you didn't want to take the shuttle, the walk wasn't bad at all. If you are tired of the park and want to do something different for a day, take the Jet Express to Put-in-Bay, rent a golf cart and see the island. A relaxing time.
If you are coming from Rt. 9 north, be careful not to miss the campground. The sign is actually past the entrance. Keep an eye out for the Sprinkle Shack on the left and the campground is directly across from that. Once entering the campground it was very nice. The store was well equipped. I found the employees to be very courteous and attentive. We were in the loop by the new pool, and it was close and convenient to the store. The only thing that was upsetting about this campground was that the electric on our site shut off twice on us. At least we were there when it happened so we didn't lose all of our food from the fridge and freezer. I would camp here again, just at a different site.
I, too, think that it is a very pricey campground! The staff were very pleasant upon check-in and throughout our stay. The pancake breakfast was very good!! Our site was very level and quite spacious. We were in the "R" section. The amenities were good also. Very clean campground. Would have liked to rent the bicycles but there was an extra cost for them too!!
This is a very clean campground. When we arrived our fire pit was full of leaves. We went to the front desk, and within minutes someone was there to clean it out. They are very attentive to campers needs. The camp store was very well stocked. They do charge you $2.00/day if you are going to use your fan or a/c at your site. They also charge for children and guests.
