Staying here in a 40' motorhome for the week of the dog show. This place is very nice with wide spaces, shade trees and clean buildings and grounds. People were very helpful and nice. Three dog areas where you can let them loose to run around as long as you are with them. Otherwise they need to be on a leash. Nightly/weekly area is up close to the office with the monthly sites further away. It kind of gives you an in the country feeling except for some noise from the roads not far away. It is close enough to places of interest to make it "local". Level concrete pads and roads, easy to navigate. A pool, hot tub, showers, fitness center, shuffle board, horse shoes and a pavilion with a gas grill. All in all a very good place to stay and we will definitely come back.
This is a very nice Resort. We stayed in the executive section during the Labor Day weekend. Well laid out with space, concrete pads, patio with grass around. They had four chairs with a round table in each of the sites, other areas had picnic type tables. There is a pet play area which had plenty of space in it and one bench for the park to use. Also they provide pet "pet waste bags" at various stations around the park. Unfortunately, the drought has had an effect on them, drying up several of their man-made ponds. There was a water restriction going on. Still there was a catch and release small pond that we saw people and their kids using. Had a nice Saturday morning breakfast and a Sunday evening BBQ and ice cream social. Wi-Fi was not so good at our location, weak signal and kept dropping. I thought was strange because their access point looked like it was straight across me on the next street over. We will definitely return.
We were here for a week for the Houston Dog Show at Reliant Center. The park advertises Big Rig Friendly, but as another reviewer posted, it is very very tight. No pull throughs, and had to back and forth it a couple of times to get backed into our site. Pretty much the same thing when leaving the space. Entrance and exit are fine. This is close to Reliant Center which makes it convenient. Other campers were nice, many are there for the hospitals. The grounds are kept up. Dog play area needs some work. Our 15 lb terriers were able to get out between the fence boards. WiFi tends to be slow.
We have stayed here twice now for dog shows being held at the AT&T Center. It is not a good part of town, but it is gated and fenced, and I saw police officers patrolling the grounds. Internet was down one day on our first trip and up the second trip, and when up service was good. Park was well run, everyone was friendly and helpful. They work hard to keep it clean. Other guests were nice. We will stay here again.
Pretty easy to get in to with a motorhome and does have pull throughs. Very shady under the pines. Owner was nice. We arrived after dark. Lots of permanent residences, quite a few in older trailers which were not in the best of condition. Maintenance the next morning started mowing and I could hear the mower hitting stuff. I had to go outside to stop him after he threw stuff and it hit my motorhome. We left shortly after that and will not go back.
We ended up here pretty much by chance since our original destination was in the path of the hurricane in LA. My wife called them to see if they had space. They told us there the Texas Potjie Festival was that weekend but they could put is in the front which is basically overflow. They also warned there would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 to 600 people there. I thought it was great of them to let us know before we got there. The "overflow" area had full hookups, 50amp service in a grass covered area. The owner said that even it if rained we would be OK since underneath was a base pad. The staff was great and even though I am not a big crowd person, the KOA handled the event well, the people were great and we had a good time. Lots of trees and a tree covered tent camping area. Staff works hard to keep the place nice. Then only drawback was fire ants invading us. It was a great weekend with great people. I would recommend the place.
