This is a great park and as soon as the "dust" issue is resolved it will be difficult to get a space on any weekend. We camped over the Halloween weekend and it was nearly perfect. Nice sites, be careful as all are not level, with plenty of space between. We camped in the upland section and it was very nice. The bottlomland has river and pond view sites; however, they do not have sewer connections. We plan to return again and again.
I camped here over the weekend and was in site # 44. It appears that the economy has left it's mark on Percy Quin. This is a wonderful park that is suffering from a bit of neglect and lack of TLC. Still an overall good park but needs proper maintenance. Restrooms were clean; but some showers not working, out of paper, etc. Park was booked up for the weekend and all sites were full. The staff was having and issue with power on some sites and some people were shuffled around. Park staff did a good job as far as I can tell. We will camp here again.
This a brand new state park that opened July 28th. The RV park is separated into 2 different areas (upland RV and bottomland RV). The upland is traditional RV camping with full hookups and all back-ins, gravel, and limited shade. The bottomland is a mix of back-ins and pull-throughs with wooden decks creekside. These however only have electric and water, no sewer. A dump station is located close by. The activities are numerous, including hiking, horseback trails, water park for kids, and fishing in ponds or river. The interior roads are still gravel and can be dusty but they are working every day to make this the destination park in south Louisiana.
Overall nice park: it is at a casino. It is a park and not a campground so it is there for you to park while gambling. It rained and the site held water. The restrooms were dirty and not cleaned very regularly.
This was the first time we stayed at this campground. Rate reflects GS and PA discounts. The staff is wonderful and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. Restrooms and showers are clean and air conditioned. The pavilion and pool make this a great place to hang out and bring the family. Overall one of the best campgrounds we have visited. Ideally I would like to see more green space between sites, but these are adequate.
Nightly rate includes Good Sam discount for Thursday only. The is a very nice RV park with all the amenities. WIFI is available but was not consistent at our site. The cable is really not worth hooking up. However, I did not go to watch tv. There is no shade and it is hot. If you escape the sun in the morning it will get you in the afternoon. We stayed here while going to concert on Friday night. Very, very clean park and wonderful staff. Would rate a 10 if there was shade and WIFI/cable was better. Bring plenty of mosquito repellant, they are horrible at night.
I had booked 1 of the pull-thru sites on reserve america and upon arrival the site was not acceptable. The pull-thru sites are nothing more than a field with hook-ups good only for over night. The staff was very helpful and gave me a transfer to a open site that I had selected with no charge. This is a very nice family park with plenty for the kids to do. Bathrooms were very clean and there was also laundry facilities. Most sites are either really good or really bad. Getting RV level is an issue and also so sites retained water. All sites are paved and have full hook up. We would stay again.
We stayed for seven nights. When making a reservation, I was told that I was being upgraded to a seasonal site since I booked a week. Upon arrival I discovered that the site I was assigned was very, very unlevel yet all the beautiful sites around us were either level or pretty close. This is the reason I feel I was assigned this site as there is no way anyone will pay to keep a rig on this site long term. I had to virtually put the nose of my 5th wheel on the ground to get close to level. Now, with my whining out of the way, this is a very beautiful park and has all kinds of activities. The pull-thru sites in the new (blue) section are very nice and I wish we had been assigned there. There is some road noise from Highway 15, but unless you are up front by office it is not an issue. They are doing some expanding and I do not think that the waterslide is open. It is close to all Gettysburg attractions. I would camp here again.
We camped here overnight on both sides of a trip to Gettysburg. This is a very nice and clean park. There are plenty of activities for the kids and it is very quiet. The staff are very friendly and willing to assist in any way possible. We had planned to try another camp on our way back through this area, but the experience on the first night made us choose this park again.
This has the potential to be the perfect RV park. If a little time and money was put into bringing this park up to date it would be great. The sites in the main CG area are blacktop and the roads are good. However, the road to the pull-through sites, by the lake, is dirt and rutted due to recent rains. These are the sites that will attract the larger rigs and at some point the access will be tenuous at best. Now, with this said, I love this park and will return time and time again. I think that this was my first time to camp here and that the deficiencies were due to it being off-season. Those camping here be sure to tell the staff how big your rig is. There are some of the patio pull-through sites that are not pull-throughs and will not accommodate larger rigs. The views of the lake from the patio pull-through sites are spectacular.
We stayed here Thursday through Sunday. The staff was very friendly and accommodating as they changed our reservation as requested to arrive a day early and also due to weather (rain), they moved us to a dryer site. As stated, the weather was very bad and we had to stay inside most of the time. This park does hold water and could use some gravel to freshen things up and help keep water from pooling at the campsites. This did not detract from the overall quality of this campground. We will return and look forward to spending some time here during better weather.
Stayed overnight. Large concrete sites and easy to locate. Cable available at site. Cleanest restrooms I have ever been in. This is a very clean and neat park. Do not know what activites are available for kids. We would stay here again for overnight only.
