This is a quiet, peaceful place that is very people and pet friendly. The staff and the look of the campground is what the low country is all about. A laid back slower lifestyle and friendly people. Concrete pads and paved streets would spoil this campground's natural beauty. Cable TV and WI FI is free and has always worked for us. Carrying a flashlight at night to walk the beagles is no problem. The staff keeps up the great work and we will see you again in 2011.
We have camped here for years and have always enjoyed our stay. This time however someone has opened a bar right in front of A section. Woow Friday night was loud. We were on the river about 50 yards away and the music and noise until 2:00 am were pretty bad. The drunks stumbling out cursing, drinking and hollering was more than anyone would want their children to see. I could not imagine what people in the front end A section sites would here. Anyway it is not the KOA's fault but I hope they put up a privacy fence or something. And it would not be to bad with the air conditioner running.
This campground is all we were told it would be. We stayed on the concrete slab and we had no mud or dirt problems (it rained all weekend). There was friendly staff, a security guard 24/7, clean grounds, paved roads, and a store. You could buy fishing permits, and there was a stocked river running through campground. The sound of the river was anywhere you could go in the campground, and close to everything. Will stay here again. Very nice.
