Please don't be deceived by the pictures from the website. This "resort" is much older than it looks and the "amenities" are not as they appear. We arrived on a Tuesday and were greeted by nice employees who checked us in and told us that we could just drive around and find a spot that we liked. As we drove through the park, it became clear that this was a "long term stay" resort that looked a lot like a mobile home park. We finally found a spot and set up. We had been camping for several days before, so my wife wanted to do laundry at their facilities. When she entered the laundry room, she found 4 washers that were all being used by the same person. We tried fishing from the pier, but the hydrilla is so bad in the lake that it makes it almost impossible to fish (this is not a negative towards the resort). We took our children to the game room which ended up as a disaster. They tried 3 different games, each costing .50, and all 3 games took the money without letting them play. We went to the office and the only response we received was "sorry, but we don't give refunds on the game room". By the way, there is no sign in the game room stating this, and the fact that we were with the kids when it happened should have been sufficient for them to refund our $1.50. The "miniature golf" course is a joke. All of the holes are identical and they were covered in leaves. The only amenity that proved to be worth the stay was the indoor pool. However, my wife had to call me to come to the pool due to the fact that some old man was sitting in the jacuzzi staring at my wife and kids. When I arrived, he quickly left. All in all, this resort is not worth the $32/night that they charge, and they definitely need to update their amenities or update the pics on their website. They also need to do a better job of keeping up the place and not letting it look "trashy". The woman who was using all of the washing machines informed my wife that they had to fumigate their RV for fleas due to the fact that the park had become infested. I sprayed/fogged the area around our trailer on a regular basis and we did not have any problems with fleas. We will not be returning to Little Mountain Resort.

We've stayed at Chestnut Bay 3 times this year, and I'm sure we will be back again next year. This is a true "resort" that is comprised mostly of high end lake front homes. The RV portion of the resort is located up above the houses but still has nice views of the lake. Positives: There are two pools in the resort, and one is especially geared towards kids of all ages and includes a water slide. There is also a Godfather's Pizza attached to the this pool which makes it nice to enjoy lunch and let the kids continue to play. There is a beach section with a 150ft water slide that dumps you out in to the lake which is great for all ages. There are tennis courts, beach volleyball, playground, an outdoor theater that they play a movie at on Saturday evenings, and tons of activities or the kids during the day. My kids really like riding on the golf carts with the summer help! Negatives: For such a nice resort, there are a couple of things that I think they could improve on. One is water pressure. I've never experienced such low water pressure at any other park or resort, and the only thing we have been told by management is that it is dependent on the usage level by the rental homes. The other concern is the cable reception. Every spot we have parked in, and every other camper we have talked to has confirmed that the cable reception is bad at best. We actually do better using our antenna and pulling in local channels. Obviously, these items do not prevent us from coming back, but for $45/night, they could be improved. All in all, it's a great resort for families, and they do a lot to keep the kids entertained. We will certainly continue to be a regular at Chestnut Bay during the "peak" season. Please note that during their "off peak" season, there are no scheduled events (i.e. movie, street party, karaoke, etc..) due to the fact that they do not have their college help available.

We are camping here a year or so after the tornado hit. This was our first time to the park, so we weren't sure what to expect. When we first arrived at the park, we were met at the office/store by very friendly staff that assigned us a spot. They told us we could drive around and choose a different spot if we desired, and just call and let them know if we wanted to change. As we entered the park, we immediately saw the devastation that was caused by the tornado. Almost all of the trees in the park are gone, and all but one of the RV sections along side the lake are still being rebuilt. We seriously reconsidered staying there, but I'm really glad we did. We picked a site towards the back end of the park that only had a couple of campers in it. Within an hour or so of getting set up, we had deer walking right up to our camper, which the kids loved. We drove up to the lodge on one day and ate brunch which was very nice (the views from the lodge are incredible), and we tried walking one of the hiking trails, but ran in to a dead end due to all of the fallen trees. We had a great time fishing from the dock and the kids enjoyed the swimming area. All in all, it was a great time, and I am so glad we stayed. At one point, the staff came by and informed us that a storm was coming that evening and we were under a tornado watch, which we really appreciated. Just keep in mind that this is a state funded park, and they are doing their best to recover from such a devastating storm. We look forward to camping there again in the future.
