We spent 11 nights at this campground and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners, couldn't have been more accommodating, friendly and efficient. Any question or request that we had was immediately met with a positive response. The campground is clean and well-kept and the renovations and improvements that have been done are obvious. The laundry is new and well-equipped and includes a well-stocked lending library. The bathrooms are slated to be totally redone but at the present time are clean, although dated. All utilities have recently been upgraded and a full commercial kitchen has just been installed in the pavilion in order to offer pizza and other items for campers' consumption beginning 2011. This campground is very family oriented with many planned activities, especially for children. We have a 33' motorhome and had a lovely roomy wooded site. We look forward to returning to this location in the future.
The seven level pull-throughs at the front of this campground are at a premium and they do not have sewer hookups. Only the back-in sites have sewer available and the other pull-throughs are not particularly level. In our opinion, the bathrooms are inadequate for the number of sites and are very dated and were not terribly clean when we were here. The owners are very friendly. However, not all of the check-in staff are particularly cordial or accommodating. We felt that this campground was over-priced for the quality of the accommodations.
This is the second time we've stayed at this park. It is great for large rigs (we tow a dolly) and is easy on and off I-81. The sites are large, level, and well spaced. They are easy to get in and out of and great for a one night stay. The management is very friendly and the store is well supplied. The only drawback that we found was that the bathrooms and laundry room are dated.
Nice park in a beautiful setting. Has gravel roads and sites and long pull-throughs widely spaced with well manicured grass between. Very friendly staff. Laundry facilities are small and somewhat dated. Park appeared to provide a wide variety of outdoor activities.
We had made a reservation for a pull-thru site so that we would not have to disconnect our car and the dolly as we were staying only one night. When we arrived we were told they had only one spot available which was a back-in. The management (owner) did not seem the least bit perturbed or concerned that they could not honor our reservation. We would not consider this a park for travelers as it is mostly long term residents. The park is in the flight path for a Fed-Ex major air hub and there is a steady stream of jet planes taking off from 4AM to 5:30 AM making it difficult to sleep. We were very dissatisfied with this park and would not recommend staying here.
This is a lovely campground with very friendly and helpful managers. It is on top of the mountain with a fantastic view and a great breeze. The pull through sites were long and level with large concrete patios alongside the sites. The recreation hall is well-maintained and inviting and the laundry facilities are modern, clean and spacious. We had no difficulty managing the approach road, either up or down, with our 33' rig towing a car on a dolly. We stayed here four nights and thought the park was a very good value for the price we paid.
The entrance to this park is extremely uninviting and looks like a run-down trailer park. There are many long-term units in the park in poor condition. Sites are crowded although level and of adequate length. There is a lot of highway noise both day and night. We stayed here two nights, out of necessity, but would not recommend this campground to anyone.
This park is neat and clean but there is very little shade. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The sites and the roads were paved, level, and spacious. A "plus factor" here is the adjoining RV full service center.
This is an extraordinary park with lots of room for big rigs. It is clean and inviting with well paved roads. The pull thru sites are roomy, shaded, level, and paved with spacious, grassed areas between. The back-ins are at the perimeter of the park and are closer to the highway. We stayed here for two nights and wished we could have stayed longer.
This is a campground not a resort and is not as picturesque as the name would indicate. The pull thrus are quite close together but are fairly level and are adequate in length. The roads and the sites are gravel. The owners are very friendly and accommodating and they appear to be working to upgrade the entire facility. The laundry facilities appear to be new and the area is very well kept. We would recommend it mostly for a one night stay.
This park is convenient to the historic sites in Independence and Kansas City. Although there are no pull-through sites, there are adequate, level, paved back-in sites with a comfortable distance between the sites. A freight train, blowing its whistle at several crossings nearby, is a common occurrence and may be bothersome to light sleepers. The park was clean and the staff was friendly. We stayed here five nights.
This is a small, quiet no-frills campground. The owners are exceptionally helpful and friendly. The pull-thru sites are large and level. We were given a choice, on our arrival, of an open or partially shaded site. Everything here is neat, clean, and inviting. Even the picnic tables were covered with colorful covers! The laundry room, showers and rest rooms are extremely clean and well-kept. The only draw-back for young families is the lack of a play area for children. We would definitely return if in the area.
We stayed here for one night last year just after new owners had taken over the campground and felt that it needed some improvement due to the untidiness of the many full-time residents sites. We were impressed with the improvements when we stopped there again this year: noting that those sites had been cleaned up and were nicely landscaped. We stayed on a spacious, level pull-through site in an open, unshaded area.
This is one of the best campgrounds we have ever stayed at. Our site was a large, level, shaded pull-through with adequate space between adjoining sites. The registration procedure was extremely well organized, professional and efficient. The park is very inviting, clean and neat.
