We visited this park before deciding where to stay and were NOT impressed. We chose not to stay here after looking around the facility and going inside the office to ask questions. The teenager who was working in the office acted like we were bothering him and keeping him from his magazine he was reading. He offered no extra information and only answered the specific questions we asked. The park looks like a dump and the few RV's we saw looked like they had been there a while. One was a truck camper and was in very poor shape. The sites didn't look kept up and some where on dirt. The pool was closed because they didn't keep it up to State's standards. The price is high for what you get in my opinion. We chose another RV park instead and were VERY HAPPY with our decision.
This is by far the nicest RV park in Oklahoma City. This is not the typical "parking lot" campground. There is adequate space between sites with grass, trees, fire rings, and tables. The pool and hot tub are a new addition this year with a beautiful waterfall. Outside facilities include a large pavilion, shuffle board, horse shoes, and recumbent bikes for rent. The office is very rustic with pool tables, ping pong, foos ball, big screen
TV, and a new Pizzeria. In the near future they are planning to add a dog park, mini golf, half court basketball, more laundry facilities, and pavement to the newest site. The owner and staff are friendly and try to accommodate everyone if possible. I highly recommend this park!
This is a small park with very few full hook up sites. We did get a good spot with some trees, but they are hard to come by. This park has a lot of activities to offer including, hiking, horseback riding, putt putt, paddle boats or canoes, a pool, and a small general store. The best part of the campground is the natural springs that you can play in. The campground needed some work and the bathrooms were average. Overall this was a good experience and I would go back if we could get the same spot.
This is a nice little family park with two areas for camping. One at the top of the hill with no sewage hookups and at the bottom of the hill with some full hookups. We stayed at the bottom in a shady place. The pads are gravel and the back in sites are better than the pull thru sites. They have a lot to do, from hiking, fishing, vollyball, a small nature center, a small lake to rent boats or canoes, a paved path for bikes or scooters, a play ground, putt putt, and a swimming pool. We spent drove to Talequah one day and floated the Illinois river. The only complaint I have is the bathrooms. Not clean, had water running over the floors.
This campground was nice, we had a little trouble getting into our site. It was crammed a little bit. We did enjoy being by the playground and the bathrooms were very nice. The main problem we had was the highway noise at night. A motorcycle was speeding up and down the highway at 3a.m. for a while which kept us awake. Other than that it was a nice place to stay.
This was actually our first camping experience. We loved the campground because the pads were concrete and level, there was a a lot of space between us and the next person. We had beautiful scenery especially in the fall with the trees changing color. The caves were fun to climb and explore especially for kids. There was a small lake to paddle boat in, a play ground and nature center. The only complaint was the bathrooms were full of creepy crawlies. Very good experience.
We actually never got to camp there because we made our reservation several months in advance in order to secure a premium spot. I was told over the phone by their employee what our site number was, what the deposit amount was and that she would make a note in the computer not to move us. She promised me that we would not be moved especially because we were paying for a premium spot. I just happened to call them this week to change our arrival date by one day and they had moved us to a non-premium spot which is out in an open meadow. She denied ever having the conversation with me about the premium spot even though my credit card was charged for a premium amount and I had the spot number written down. I tried to talk to the manager about the situation and he would not even let me talk to him. He refused to listen to my problem and said he didn't believe me because they don't hold specific spots. This was after his employee told me twice that there was a box they could check in their computer that said "do not move." He refused to refund my whole deposit even though they made the error. They charged us a $10 cancellation fee when this was not our fault. He was very rude to me, raised his voice, wouldn't let me explain which is very poor customer service. I told him I would have my husband call and speak with him instead and he said "I don't care if you have Jesus himself call me!!" and he hung up on me. After this experience and speaking to others who have stayed there and had a horrible experience with the management we will never give them our business. Just thought others needed to know what they might be dealing with.
