This is the third Jellystone campground we've stayed at and by far the smallest. We stayed late in the season (the weekend before school began) so the campground was pretty empty and quiet. The restrooms were clean, but one of the comfort stations was old and tired. Most of the roads are paved; some sites are gravel and some are grass. The fire pits are all in-ground (read: no airflow), so starting a fire can be difficult. The pedal car rate here is high, $15/half hour for a four seat. The staff is all very young and rather inexperienced. Here's an example. The park has a wristband system for amenities. On more than one occasion everyone was bull-horned out of the pool for a wristband check. Those with wristbands were forced to wait while those without were dealt with. (Picture cold crying toddlers here.) Meanwhile nothing was said to the family who had their dog at the pool. Too pricey for what you get, but close to Chicagoland so it might be worth it.

We stayed at a site in the 600 area. This was really close to the freeway and was noisy at night. Some of the sites closer to the lake may not have this problem. Lots of activities: water slides, paddle boats, pedal cars, 3 pools, splash pool, and many playgrounds. The nightly rate seemed kind of high for having extra fees on some activities. Everything was in good condition, but pretty busy. The staff was 50-50 on how friendly and helpful they were. The registration staff said wood couldn't be delivered from the Ranger Station, but when we drove our motorhome over there, there was at least 3-4 staff members in golf cars offering to deliver wood. This was on a Thursday, but they were not delivering any of the other nights we were there. We would only stay here again if it was convenient.

A very pleasant campground that has many friendly campers – both renters and owners. The restrooms, showers, and activity center were all kept quite clean. The pool is nice, but the ashtrays could go. The frog pond and candy bar bingo were a hit with the kids, but the playground equipment needs some serious updating (peeling paint, exposed screws, and a very hot metal slide). The staff sprayed down the road and fogged for mosquitoes daily while we were there. We might go back since it's close for us, but probably not worth a long trip.
